    My older bitch will eat rats for a past time ,vile but you try stop her .Vit K is the antidote to Warfarin based coagoalents your right Neil .Modern poisons have moved on though ,someone will state the active ingredients suffice to say my young dog ate some and the vet gave her a saline jab to vomit it out .No vit k jab .Sent home 90 notes lighter and a charcoal liquid that absorbs any remaining poison in the gut .Diofecom I think poison was called .Lilac coloured paste .Worse stuff is drat as its apparently sweet tasting .

    I took it for granted you lads would know any bitch has to be doing it right BUT not only does it have to be working but it has to of produced workers .There's no shortcut to this but many have tried .In my opinion and only mine Nick Stevens was a classic example of looking to a bitch for longevity but IMO he failed .Bear with me .NS liked a bolter type and bred to these types to produce same ,saw it with my own eyes .Just before he jacked it all IMO his line was going downhill fast and it was only the foresight of others introducing harder types via a dog that resurrected what there is today

    That's where we differ mate as I would rather see what happens than prejudge .Most lads with any common since will talk before the dog is to ground and ere on caution as to it staying .I too have been surprised over the years and would never judge a dog on its looks unless its a Plummer of course .

Do you think any of the other terrier types are of any use ?? Not a go at you but a genuine question, Plucky An honest opinion mate is that I've spent my life around black dogs therefore I can only honestly comment on what I know .I've seen all the rest go at odd times but nothing to base an argument on unless its Plummer based of course.So to answer your question IMO black dogs are worth keeping .

    Some well known lines have been led to ruination by breeding towards the bitch side mate rather than the dog that created her .Some will undoubtedly dispute it but its the dog that keeps up the work ethic . A decent bitch is a decent producer but keep looking to her and the line will fade .

    Not rowing FD,but you do look down on folk who you think don't give the game the same dedication as yourself,i'm happy to be a part timer or messer as you put it and so are probebly most members on here.I don't want to be out 24/7 with the dogs or have a yard full of kenneled dogs no matter what line or breed they are as i have other things in my life like my aviaries full of birds,but that sure don't mean i'm not as dedicated as i can be in doing whats best with all of them be it working or breeding them and it was your choice to dedicate your life to your dogs and you should shoulder that we
