  1. When I started I had the crazy idea that everybody I knew in the game needed at least one so I breed litters at a silly rate .5-6 litters a year from the very best bitches to the same dog .Never knew it was called back breeding but makes sense . Only ever bred one litter from any bitch at age 3-4 UNLESS she was exceptional and took another at around 6-7 . When you find you are breeding for the hell of it it’s time to think why and I soon only bred for myself giving away excess .
  2. That gene was in there somewhere mate x2 .It’s a lottery starting with the right gear ,that’s why it’s important to do a bit of homework I’d say ,I just got lucky . The bigger the mix to start with the higher the hybrid vigour .That’s to say the wider the gene mix the less likely bad traits have been FIXED by inbreeding .Doubling up on faults is what causes them to surface I’m told .
  3. Can only speak from experience mate .Father daughter ,niece matings have been my thing for 36 years .I’m all but out the game now but I’ve no probs talking about how it went . When you say too often what do you mean ,every year ,every other ,every 5 or no set plan ,just breed for replacements.
  4. It’s only a problem if your stock holds the problem gene to start with .You cannot breed in faults without introducing them .
  5. Let’s start with why you are breeding and how often .The very best line breeders I know only breed when THEY need a replacement and never for anybody else .The law of average states the more you breed the more chance of deformity with any breeding plan .
  6. Exactly what do you think can go wrong with breeding closely to descent stock .Many many lies told about the whole thing .I’ve known of loads of inbred lines and only one has resulted in a deformity ,a cleft pallet . Show me the lines that are wracked with deformities .
  7. Tell me why mate .Start with good stock and continue .With lurchers of mixed breed the line should be limitless .
  8. Why’s that mate .Too many people think breeding close is a problem .Well it ain’t .
  9. Said it before Dean ,you are welcome here bud .Maybe when your allowed to cross the bridge you could make the journey .Miss the lurchers tbh .
  10. Pity your all in lockdown .Plenty to go at now it’s a bit quieter lol.
  11. Same guys .Going to change the remmy 308 for t3 lite in line with other two .Love the .223 tikka and shot some gear with the .243 as well .
  12. Must be confusion in Wales then ,all those fingers .
  13. We’ve the light system here .Saw it today at Tesco’s .
  14. If you read thread from start to finish the original poster states it’s a long way round to creating a line which is so far from the truth as to be a downright lie .Fastest way to fix traits is to stick to one common denominator ie the dog . Breed your stud to very closely bred bitches of the right sort and pick another stud from same breeding for future use ,repeat .Done it for years with terriers .
  15. Anybody else noticed the paki phone calls starting off with “Hi brother “Answered here with “f**k off rancid “
  16. Was talking to an old boy I’ve known for years .He was saying something which I’ve never really considered .We as a white British country have fought off many diseases in the past ,the plague for one many others I’m sure and made us the strong nation we WERE but the advent of multiculturalism has diluted us somewhat ,at least those who crossed the line anyway . Our immunity dies with each generation getting further away from the original islanders .It’s no coincidence it’s ripped through the non natives so fast ,wish they could freely publicise numbers . Something iffy about how this
