    We are experiences heavy rains and winds at moment ,not ideal for a bird .Lost my Harris for two days due to inexperience on a windy day .Off he went tail chasing a crow and they went and went and went .No telemetry but he was still on same farm two day later ,fat but biddable .One of the only birds I’ve known to want to be with me ?

    I hear lads talk about big foxes from time to time but very rarely do I believe them either due to exaggeration by lads prone to same or just lack of pics . Last night I shot the biggest fox I’ve ever seen ,huge head and 43 inches from nose to tail .I used my works shovel as a gauge as no tape with me .Shovel is 40 inches and tail was 3 inches longer than that . He was curled up out the middle of a field ,digesting a huge meal no doubt as he was fat as can be .Hope the pics do him justice .Here he is against a run of the mill dog fox .Legs far longer than any fox I’ve ever seen .

    It’s shit mate .My game dealer phoned this morning to say he’s shut down for good .Everley game near Andover .He was ticking over for the last month taking a few but says it’s not worth the hassle and he’s retiring . Just when I thought things were bucking up and I could shoot a few does .

    At moment your dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t .Mate of mine just had litter of cockers .He had them put at 800 but working homes only. Lad came all the way from Lincoln and asked why the price was so low .He wanted two but left with one .It can’t go on though ,I’d say .Lot of stealing dogs going on at moment to fund the demand .Chips being cut out .Might of seen it on the web but keeper I know had his springer bitch stolen ,cops found it but wouldn’t give it back without the chip ffs .He’s fighting it with dna from the dam .
