  1. foa BLAZE 1 these are the sump guards that i put on my subarus, saves fixing the exhaust everytime i've been out
  2. for Hairyface permission lol.. i've got permission as far as the lamp can see, i pay for it down the magistrates court beano is at my mates and i have access to him anytime i want, i had him out friday night but theres no point posting about it on here because we never run any rabbits and i only Have ALF and a young pup in the kennels now Billy chucked the towel in last week, i could'nt believe what i was seeing but i've seen it plenty of times before . i had Alf out last night and he was spot on, very efficient
  3. daihatsu fourtraks are the cheapest proper 4x4 to insure group 8 i think
  4. to be honest i dont think there is anything bad to say about them, there built with quality and reliability in mind
  5. i always lamp and drive, but the passenger always has a lamp at hand if needed, and usually theres only 2 of us in the car and 3 dogs 2 of them are clipped up and only one is run at a time. the dogs know exactly when there needed and the passenger lets them out while i lamp, pretty tricky at times but easy enough when your used to it
  6. this is turning out to be a decent thread so lets see what your all running this season, i'll be running these 2 mainly this season the black dog was about 11 month old in this pic, he's 18 month old now
  7. imo the old 1800 l-series were unbeatable when it comes to driving fields. the 1600 models were pretty good although they did'nt have the low box, the legacy turbos are too fast and struggle to keep traction and dont have a low box either, the 2.5 legacys blow head gaskets for fun and most are autos, the 2.2 is'nt much faster than the 2.0 mainly just top end, and heavier on juice, the 2.0 litre legacys are still very fast, mine does 60 mph in 2nd gear and has a top speed of 130 mph (how much faster do you need to go ?), the gl is pemanant four wheel drive with low box and the dl is selectable
  8. there bonded in but you can cut them out with bicycle brake cable if your careful, if you get one i can get it bonded in cheap. have you had owt with blue yet ?
  9. have you had a quote for the window yet ?
  10. allright mate did you get some decent tyres sorted out, if not try these i'll be putting a set of rally ms on mine shortly http://www.colwaymotorsport.co.uk/tyres.htm#rallyms
  11. i know what you mean mate, theres a bunch of lads not to far from us that won't wait for everything to come down, but for some the cubs are the only quarry there dogs can handle one thing i have noticed about this sort of lamping is that it soon sorts the good dogs from the bad ones and i have spewed a fair few in the past.... dogs that had good names and dogs that would have probably kept there good names if they were lamped the normal way... walking, squeeking etc.
  12. i've noticed over the last few years the massive increase in "land driving" whether in subarus or 4x4's etc, especially this last year or so, i know a lot of lads have took to the fields with car and lamp for obvious reasons, it's something i enjoy probably more than anything, although if i were honest i'd say its a bit lazy but imo its the best way of truly testing a dogs capabilitys simply because of the amount of quarry you can meet in the night due to the mileage that can be covered in short time. so i was just wondering how many people on here work there dogs from the motor and what moto
  13. usually september til march for me, but last year all the corn was cut by mid august so i started then, could be the same this year.....i cant wait
  14. that would mean theres no closed season for him maybe some unborn young were added to make such a tally

    Fox dumping

this fox only had 3 legs but i dont know if it was released by rspca etc, but when it was spotted on the lamp it was laid at the side of a wall in wet freezing conditions just looking at the lamp without a care in the world, infact it never tried to run until the lurcher was nearly on top of it, no squeeking, engine running on the fourtrak etc, it just was'nt bothered
  16. neither if they cant kill a fox

    Tyres

i'll be putting another set of these on this season "GREENWAY MACHOS", i cant fault these at all
  18. i dont have a favourite cross, any will do as long as it does what i want it for
  19. i'm just concentrating on getting the dogs back in shape for september, i like to give them plenty of rest during the summer
  20. i bet that frisbee could be a bit of a weapon in the right hands
  21. i suppose a 3/4 bull bred dog has it's uses, but i cant see it being any better than a good half cross. i've noticed that a lot of the pure bulls or 3/4 bulls tend to want to fight there quarry rather than kill it efficiently maybe this is because they just dont give a f**k about getting there face chewed off ...lol. i personally would'nt have a 3/4 bull because i know for a fact that a good 1/2 cross or even a good 5/8 3/8 can do a better job when it comes to terrier work, lamping, and bushing even, e.g its allright having a 3/4 bred dog purely for terrier work but what happens when you dro
  22. i took my username from a dog i had when i first joined this forum, LUCKY, at the time i wanted to use the name TYKE after a better dog i had at the time but someone had allready registered with that name
  23. well i have 3 to work this season and a pup for next season but if these were the only dogs available to me i'd be having a quiet season compared to some of my previous ones, but luckily i have mates that have some tidy dogs for back up or to share the work load even. the only quarry i run (pre ban of course) are foxes and the odd deer if i'm having a quiet night, and i know if i was to go out as often as i do (or would like to) with just 3 dogs available i could sicken them in no time, but that would be very stupid imo, dogs can only be pushed so far, what ever the dog, they all have a break
  24. i don't think you can buy much of a horse at appleby now a days with 3 grand, some horses were in the region of 75, 60 and plenty of 30 grand horses, horse prices have gone through the roof in the last few year, similar to whats happening with houses .
  25. the dog is now sold, sorry about the late replies but i've been away for a few days
