  1. i've just got the deben long range finder, and i are'nt impressed at all, it was always on the dog but the depth was well out the box was atleast 3 ft out everytime i.e if it said 5 ft it was only 2 ft deep, in the end i was using my old mk 1 box with the lrt collar
  2. the type of shooters i think most of us are reffering to are the one's that want to kill everything they see, they only have to watch the warrener and there out wipeing the fox & deer population out without any consideration for anything, proper wankers imo. the problem is the majority of shooters give that very impression, and the worst i have met are the ones that will pay ridiculous amounts of money to go shoot the big exotic stuff abroad just for the buzz they get out of blowing holes in stuff, i was in the gun shop a while back and there was a man in there bragging about how many sea
  3. dont want to jump on the band wagon but i kown a few guys who are rifle men i personal dont like shooting but these guy only shoot a couple at nite they have told me they could easly shoot more but if the do there wont be any left for next time i know if they no if there any with cubs in the area the stay clear could just be a couple of bad eegs mate sure some great rirfle men out there respect wat they do so my question to you if you go on a dig and find cubs what do you do? they will probabably get killed, but not left for days waiting for mother to come home, most people stop for the s
  4. there is'nt a problem with control, if theres a fox problem its entirely up to the land owner how he wants to deal with it, what i dont understand is people that get there kicks from shooting foxes, people that do it just for the crack, why not shoot targets at the same ranges its exactly the same, some shooters dont even go to see what they've actually shot, unless they want to pace it out so they can tell everbody how far there last victim was, and how big a hole they put in it. we've all seen the lambs outside earths aswell, thats when cubs are being reared it's nature, so what would yo
  5. some lads around here who used to be lurcher men applied for there gun licences as soon as the ban came in and since they have wiped the fox population out around here shooting 200 plus this season. i can in no way see how shooting a fox can be classed as sport, pest control yes but not sport, just a waste of a bullet. it seems that since the ban came in a lot of people shit there selfs and turned to shooting because there does'nt seem to be half as many foxes about in the last couple of years than there were previously. what the antis don't realise is that this ban is certain to a
  6. if the dog comes with a trial then thats fair enough, but if the dog is doing that amount of foxes in a season he is doing as good a job as any other dog about and far better than most, so i would keep him. were the majority of these foxes run and caught in the daytime or has he been on a lot of digs ?
  7. this is the young dog after todays dig
  8. sounds like a good day, good post mate

  10. isnt that supposed [banned Text] be the other way round lol , good on the bigger stuff and not so on the little , i thought thats why people * worship* this breed , oOo well , hope it goes to a decent home though Dale he said the bitch is only good for rabbiting, not the other way round
  11. the vets dont even seem interested in trying to bring them down or waiting even, all they want to do is castrate him ? the problem is that if i have him castrated and he makes the grade i wont be able to breed anything from him, but i dont want him developing cancer either, if i knew that castration definately wont affect his work then i'd just have it done ?
  12. i've just had my young terrier to the vets this morning because his knackers have'nt dropped yet and he's coming up 17 month old, the vet has recomended that they be removed as they can be cancerous later on if left, i am not keen on castration, but they said i could wait another 6 months but it's unlikely they will drop and could become cancerous in the meantime. this terrier has had a few decent digs to him allready and he's showing all the signs of making a decent little dog, but i've heard a lot of negative stuff about castration and was wondering how much this is going to affect his work

my terriers in the vets in the morning because is stones still have'nt dropped and he's nearly 17 month old
  14. does anyone know if theres such a thing to convert 240 volts into 3 phase (415) ? i can buy a large industrial mincer but the only trouble is it's 3 phase and i am only wired up for 240 volt. if there is such a thing where could i get one ?
  15. sounds to me like has'nt got the minerals to be a fox killer, not on his own anyway, but he may develop a way of dealing with them efficently in time, how old his he ?
  16. i've clicked "other" because the best dog i ever owned for fox and deer was mainly collie cross greyhound. now if i wanted a dog for deer it would probably be saluki based, and if i wanted a dog for fox it would be a bull greyhound without a doubt, imo you cant have the best of both worlds you either have an excellent fox dog, or an excellent deer dog. some peoples standards are far lower than other peoples, and i would'nt class any dog as a fox dog unless it could kill as many as you put in front of it regular, 3 or 4 atleast. as with deer they imo are a true test of a dogs ru
  17. How come so many in a short time Lucky? You must give them some serious hammer? they get a lot of stick (harsh driving in 1 st, 2 nd, and sometimes 3 rd gear) i use them for lamping (driving fields) so they get battered in no time. the gearbox started going on the shogun, the discovery got wrote off, the clutch has burnt out on the patrol, i did'nt have the terrano a day, and i'm using another fourtrak at the moment. its like a 4x4 breakers here at the moment lol...thank god the seasons over, i'm sick of swapping the insurance over
  18. always had subaru legacys, but the last year or so i've used the following: shogun 2.5 td very good off road, but a bit slow and a bit warm on diesel. discovery 200 tdi very comfy, plenty of room and good on diesel, but a little heavy (2 ton). nissan patrol 2.8 td very slow, red hot on diesel, and pretty hard to get bits for. daihatsu fourtrack 2.8 td intercooler go like rockets, not brilliant on fuel, and a bit bouncy, very strong engines though. nissan terrano 2.7 td absolute shite. imo any 4x4 is only as good as the tyres its got on, i use greenway macho's and bronc
  19. not wanting to start any arguments but how come everybody says get yourself a patterdale, now we all know that theres just as many if not more shite patterdales about as any other terrier, a lot of the shite is being bred because a lot of clowns think if the dogs black it will dig foxes. i've seen some decent patterdales and i've seen some russels equally as good but i've only seen one plummer being dug to years ago 12 foot to strong quarry, maybe a one off ? imo nobody seriously buys a plummer with digging in mind, if i wanted a pup that was going to be used for digging i would go to
  20. an idea of the price you want might help ? and before you say pm me i allready have twice ?
  21. the only thing the ban has affected with me is the final photo of the night , because it's no longer viable to drive around with 4 or 5 victims in the motor
  22. i know the man very well, but why do you ask ?

    SAT NAV

i've got a tom tom one with the speed cameras, and all the celebrity voices, i prefer the one because its not as bulky as the other models and fits in the pocket nicely i've also got a tom tom 500 that works abroad, fully loaded, but a little bulky for the pocket, i can pair it to my phone and ring out and recieve calls on it aswell without touching the phone, very handy with the new laws concerning using the phone whilst driving i used to have a nav man but found it to be absolutely crap
  24. boxers running and catching deer, doberman x greyhounds, 1 question WHY ?, theres plenty of purpose bred dogs available for what ever quarry anyone should wish to hunt. but every now and then someone invents the next best dog, purely for the purpose of lining there own pockets, but to do this they have then to find a few gullable people to buy them, then something new is produced and the "used to be" best dog, is left in the rehoming centre as its no longer "fashionable"
