  3. --> QUOTE(Dawn B @ Nov 20 2006, 07:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They dont hold their price Subaru's do they?Dawn. not when i've done with them they don't :11:
  4. theres a lad around here that has a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 airedale, it's looks just like a bull/greyhound, i dont know anything about its working ability though
  5. lucky

    rabbit

i would of gone for collie/greyhound x bull/greyhound from that pic
  6. there always been a few around barnsley mate
  7. imo for sheer running ability the roe comes first, fallow are equally as fast but lack on the turn, but which would be the hardest to catch, fallow or roe ? i'd say fallow because most dogs can grab a roe anywhere and bring it to the ground, but that is'nt the case with the bigger deer
  8. i have'nt seen any pull up but i've seen a few good "roe" dogs really struggle to get a good hold on a fallow, let alone stop it, or bring it down even
  9. i think everyone knows what a deerhound is but do you honestly think they can kill mature stags in a matter of seconds, and if it was a matter of jaw power, then pound for pound the bull cross would probably have more power in the jaw. Its not just a matter of jaw power its skill, intelligence and meny moons of that breed of dog doing what it is born to do and that is hunt deer. so would you say they are capable of killing mature stags in a matter of seconds ? imo i dont think any dog is capable of killing large stags quickly, and definately not regular what ever the breed, thats

  11. to be honest i don't run many of the bigger deer, simply because i have no use for mass amounts of venison. but i find it very hard to believe that any dog can break a red deers neck so easily, or a fallow stag even, it might of happened though and i'm not saying anyones lying, but i cant imagine any dog hitting a fully grown stag in full flight and breaking its neck as it flips the deer onto the deck, a one off maybe but surely not regular ?
  12. i would just love to be able to kill foxes again
  13. imo the subaru legacy estate is the best multi purpose car on the road, but i'm a little biased if it has to be diesel i'd go for the astra or the mondeo as i've had both and could'nt fault either really. p.s. if you go for the astra make sure it's the turbo diesel as the standard diesels are very under powered
  14. i dont agree with killing birds of prey either, but then again they dont affect my livelyhood, one thing i dont understand is people killing them to stop them taking gamebirds that are getting shot dead anyway imo like most things in life it all boils down to money
  15. i dont think a pic of a dog running a fox would go down any better than a pic of a dog killing a fox
  16. i like digi cams as everything can be deleted at the touch of a button, if needed fair play to you lucky but if your uploading pic they just need a computer and if you are taking a digital camera would that give the police sufficient reason to look at your house ? maybe so but if the police went and searched my address they would'nt even find a computer  , but if they ever managed to find the other place (where i am now) and took my computer what could it prove, dates the pics were uploaded is'nt enough, who's to say they were'nt old pics or new pics of shot vermin

  18. is that aimed at me, looks like you already come to a decision, save me the suspence and f*****g delete me, and as for finding alternative sites i have 4 infact, but i'd rather be out working my dogs than stuck on the pc, this site used to be the best but it's f*****g pathetic lately.
  19. so whats the outcome, i thought today was judgement day ??
  20. theres a house on my street that has had there christmas decorations up 2 week allready, when the missus told me i thought she was going mad, untill i had a walk up to see for myself ,tree in the window lights flashing etc, they must be in a f*****g time warp :11:
  21. i dont consider either (rabbits or deer) a real test on the lamp, but during the day i do consider both a test i've just put a couple of pics up (most people on here will have seen them already) just to show it does'nt take a world beater to catch either on the lamp. the rabbits were caught with a 1/2 cross bull greyhound, and the deer were caught with a 3/8 5/8 bull greyhound and another bull cross (not sure of the percentages) we got five but only managed to bring 4 back, and both dogs were run single handed. this might look like a bit of an acheivment but if these dogs run the
  22. if i had to choose a dog purely for running deer it would probably be a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 saluki, because i see far more roe than any other species of deer when i'm out. but if i was just lamping them most crosses would suit me, the ones i've got now even. as for rabbits been harder to catch than a lamped deer i dont agree, imo the ground as a lot to do with with the run e.g rabbits on short grass like golf courses are harder to catch than they would be on a stubble imo, but if both (rabbit & deer) were on level terms on the same ground i'd put my money on the deer being the harder
  23. maybe so baldie but how many are tried regular on there own. a pure bull would probably be a better alternative if killing stuff quick was all that was needed, the trouble is they have to catch the quarry first and then kill it, so this would eliminate both types would'nt it ?. i dont really have personal favourites, but i have had more success with bull crosses. i like a dog that i can take out tonight and kill 3 or 4 foxes and then take it back out the following day and kill the same amount, there the type of dogs i keep, the 1 a week dogs are of no use to me
  24. the thing that pisses me off, is the fact that the picture was over 3 years old and one of the very few i have off Tyson, i wanted to show how the pup out of him looked so alike. i dont have hardly any pics of tyson because i lost them all on a previous pc, so the pics that i showed are all i had to show and the same pics are still on other forums and i have'nt had any complaints from admin or mods etc.. this site as changed a lot lately new mods, genuine members just leaving etc, and to be honest the majority of the posts are pretty poor, nothing like what it used to be, i understand
