All avatars and gallery pictures are currently being re-uploaded to the site. Bear with it while it's sorted and everything will go back to normal before you look around.

Just to put one myth to bed, I'm not aware of THL being sold to anyone. Ian has given the reasons for the cleanup, I really can't see the problem. Tiercel, I'm not certain, but I think that what you are looking at is a live feed from facebook. It's not actually part of this site, and therefore comes under facebook rules and not THL rules.

Amazing what goes on after dark isn't it?

The trouble is that the law is set up so that it's only an offence to use professional use products. Buying, and possession isn't an offence in itself. Misuse of pesticides is being treated more and more seriously, and I know that Natural England are actively seeking to make examples of folks To those of you reacting to it, consider the carrier as well as the product Don't forget that it's only 2% active (with the dust) the rest is talc. The americans banned it because Bendiocarb has a nasty habit of moving around. That sounds strange, I know, but it's considered too 'transfer

Good luck with that Chaos here tonight. Bottled up the Hambledon Bard kit before it got stupidly strong, and I'm just running 40 pints of Youngs Harvest Bitter into a barrel. Elderflower picking on Sunday, so watch this space

Hardly ever there these days J. I'm full time on the moles back on Exmoor at the moment Funnily enough that pub has had a bad run. 4 landlords in less than 2 years, and I can't remember the last time I even went in there. If you find yourself in North Devon give me a bell and we'll have a pint.

Are the wasps sweet feeding where you are Boots? Well early if they are Whatever you do, don't leave mixed Ficam lying around.... apart from the fact that it gets stronger as the water evapourates, it's pretty deadly stuff for other animals that may find it I think what stands out in this thread is the fact that people don't seem to be aware that pesticides are subject to the law, and any use that's not approved could lead to serious trouble with NE and the HSE. A couple of lads that were using Ficam to kill birds a couple of years ago ended up doing porridge. Whilst it's accep

Matt the law hasn't changed since 1986 Control of pesticides act 1986 It doesn't matter how old the manual is I get an audit every 6 months from the AIB and BRC we have to complete legislation , ID and best practice at a min of 90% Which we pass at 100% for the last 4 years If you know these two audits you will know that I know what I'm on with We might just have to agree to disagree ATB I'm quite happy for you not to believe me it matters not a jot to me. But I do suggest you have a word with someone who you trust because you are wrong on this one. And your suggestion

Given your opinion Millet, it surprises me that so many of the commercial poultry units I know have moved away from illegal Ficam treatments and gone over to DE. But I suppose you must know best eh?
-
The fact that you are quoting an ADAS manual shows how much out of date you are Ask the BPCA, NPTA, NGO or even Natural England.

Locked. Any more threads on this subject will be deleted, and appropriate warnings will be issued.

Revel? I've got better things to do than this, ....... honest Now for the last time, would everyone please let it drop. Ian has decided the rules, and if you haven't got the decency to respect his wishes, then THL really isn't the place for you. Thanks.
-
It's not an offence to mix stronger only a waste of productOffence is only for misuse Sorry, but you are very wrong. An offence is committed if you use any pesticide product other than the label says Go and read the Control of Pesticides Regulations.

Lots of good hay being made down here this weekend I revisited some silage ground last week and was amazed how many moles had appeared The bunnies will be enjoying that sweet young grass when it greens up a bit

This is getting tiresome....

You are right Johnny. Just like being back at school, with a little gang of girls in the corner of the playground constantly bitching about the rules.... Now for goodness sake take the hint folks Nothing major is going on, but Ian is simply asking members to try and remember that what they think is acceptable behaviour may not be acceptable to everyone else on the web. Carry on enjoying the banter, sharing anecdotes and generally having a good time; just bear in mind the requirements set out by the boss eh?

What if i was treating the mothes and woodlice and i accidently killed the red mite,, will i go to prison.. Good answer. If it was me, I'd be treating flies, rather than RM and I wouldn't be posting a full admission on the internet But each to his own
-
Asking the question because I heard that Bayer were going to request a change in approval. Without it, using it for RM is illegal. I think the quality of DE varies. One of the units I know of uses OA2Ki, but I know it's more expensive than some brands.
-
Is Ficam W approved for Red Mite now? As I posted earlier, I know of several commercial units that now use DE rather than Ficam. I'm pretty sure they know what they are doing

I'm going to repeat what I posted earlier. Warnings and bans are between the moderators and the individual members concerned. If someone is banned or warned, they are clearly told why. Often controversial posts and threads are removed and it's not easy for members to see what has happened. Whilst that may be frustrating for some, please remember that it doesn't happen for no reason.

Surely there should be some explanation as to why from the mod responsible, even if only to highlight what or what cannot be allowed. Obviously some are obvious but there seems to be a bit of ethnic cleansing going on, even removing people's avatars with no explanation Change is afoot, lets hope it doesn't feck the site up Cheers, D. Any warning or ban given is between the mods and the member concerned No cleansing; just a few idiots who have failed to grasp the concept that we have rules The removal of troublemakers usually results in an improvement in the s

Sometimes it's not easy to see why someone has had warnings, or been banned, because the offending threads or posts are usually removed There is only so far you can push before the inevitable happens.

You can download the Photobucket App to your phone and that makes it really easy
