LDR usualy carries my rabbits, (and lamp, and batteries, and just about everything else !!), 'cause he's young and fit, and I'm old and unfit, so I se no reason to change that !!! LOL !!! Woodga found it quite amusing, last time we were out, and LDR was carrying a 20 amp battery, and I was dropping the rabbits into his ruck sack !!!! I've got a feeling it'll be "every man for himself" in the comp, though !!! Cheers PS, their dogs will peak to soon !! It's all about timing.... see that lad win the 100 metres today !!!! I know the area fairly well; my laddie went to school in Ashby; but I'm afraid to say, I'm from thr Toon !! Mark; I reply to your posts 'cause you're good craic, (if unbelievable, most of the time !!), but I re- iterate; if you get through the lamping competition to a point where you are in the North East, there will be a, (king size), bed for you, and kennels for your dogs, and you will be made most welcome, being one of the few to put their money where their mouth, (incredibly big, in your case, ! LOL !) is !! Cheers.

By the same token... the less you run, the less you will catch !! Look mate, this was supposed to be a light hearted competition between like minded people !! I can honestly say I have entered for the fun of it !! I would gladly pay fifty quid to have a couple of nights on the lamp with some of these lads, on their permission, better than looking over my shoulder all the time ! LOL ! There seems to be a few people who only want to make negative comments about this competition; of course there will be a few problems, but nothing that the judges or organiser can't deal with ! Cheers.

As far as I'm concerned, the rules are extremly simple !! Alternate slips , over a three hour period, dog that kills/catches the most rabbits is the winner !!!! Why make it complicated ? Cheers.

I've got one. Great ride and comfort, loads of space, good milage, but next to useless off road !! Very limited ground clearance for a 4 x 4, but the ARE advertised as a "soft roader" rather than an "off roader". Cheers.

It might just happen as an instinctive reaction ! What happens then !! It could lead to all sorts of arguments, like "I didn't kick it, it ran into my foot " !!, Etc. It may sound very unsporting of me, but if you and your dog are working as a team, why not give your dog every advantage ??? The judge will have his work cut out deciding if it was a kick or an accident !! I believe in keeping it as simple as possible. Cheers.

This thread was about a LAMPING COMPETITION, open to ANYONE from ANYWHERE, now it's degenerating into some sort of us v them, Scotland v England thing !! There were Scots lads entered, and if they got to the final, would have far less to travell than some of the English lads !! I think LDR should have the thread locked, before it gets hijacked any further ! Cheers.

Sarah, I, Like you, have seen these comps/challenges come and go, with only a load of bullshit on the forums but no actual running of dogs !! This is a comp that WILL go ahead, even if most drop out, there is still at least 8 who WILL do it !! I for one am looking forward to it, even though I'm just making the numbers up !! Cheers.

It was tongue in cheeck, Sarah !! Stop thinking the world is against you; I am certainly not !! This comp is being run by a genuine dog lad, I'm 100% for it, although a bit skeptical that everyone who says they would like to be in it would actually come up to the plate, (as the yanks would say !!). This comp has not even started, yet you are talking about the winner taking on someone from a comp that hasn't even been advertised yet !! Lets this one be run off then see what happens !! Cheers.

I want either LDR, Woodga or Tomo in the 1st round !!! Get rid of all the favourites, then the rest of us can have a decent level chance !!!! LOL!!! Just joking; really loking forward to this, it has been mooted a few times in the past, but this one looks like coming off !!
