  1. I’m honestly not sure what you mean. Stiffy ? I know WHO you mean, but not WHAT you mean. I’ve been out with lads who ran bull types out of a motor after big game, ( just the once) , and it was an experience i’ll never forget, and I’m glad I experienced it, but it wasn’t my game; I’m just a bloke who runs running dogs. Cheers.
  2. No, Wilfy mate, it’s not blokes throwing dogs out of car windows that are keeping the lurcher game going, and I think you said that a bit tongue in cheek ! Its old blokes like me who walk the land, day and night, and try not to attract attention who keep it going. Its what we do, nothing more , nothing less. Its what we enjoy…… Cheers.
  3. Fair enough, mate. As I said , I hope you have happiness and success in whatever you’re doing. We all have our lives to live, and it’s all different situations. It’s just sad to me, that another lad has to leave the game because of situations beyond his control. Good luck in whatever path you choose. Cheers.
  4. Well, I’ve had a long hard think before replying to this thread, but here goes ! I don’t want to upset or argue with anyone, but if lurcher work has been your lifetime sport, I don’t think losing a bit of permission is reason enough to give up the game. I may be wrong, but if you have “ Poacher” in your user name, isn’t it a bit ironic that you are giving up because you’ve lost your permission ? How about travelling if it’s to hot in your area ? How about meeting other people who have permission; I’ve met plenty off here and other sites that didn’t mind me tagging along.
  5. I’m sure you’ll find a way ! LOL ! Cheers.
  6. I’ve never been to a country where I couldn’t get local currency from an ATM and the rates were always comparable to any other means of exchange. A couple of tips, if bartering in Turkey, never pay more than half what they first ask . If you are going to use your card a lot, let your bank know which country you will be in so they don’t put a lock on it for “unusual transactions”. Cheers.
  7. When my older brother was training to be a miner, they used to go down a training pit; whitewashed walls and fluorescent lights ! First time he came up from a days graft down a real pit he jacked and retrained as a joiner ! Cheers.
  8. I’m at a high point on the Tyne valley, everything is steeply downhill from here. Had it over 40 years and never had a problem with flooding. Cheers.
  9. Neither have I ! I just thought if everyone else is talking shite; I didn’t want to be left out ! PMSL ! Cheers.
  10. That’s alright for you to say; but if psi is being used a variable, as it appears here, (h = z + psi), then it’s of no use to Paulus. It would need to be a constant, relating to the gradient x length, (average), of his property ! Im sure my mate mC would be in complete agreement ! Cheers.
  11. Ooh, you’ve done it now ! Prepare for incoming ! LOL ! Cheers.
  12. Cadbury has said it’s nothing to do with them; it was one independent outlet that changed the name. Im not having that….Cadbury must have gave them permission to change the name of a product. Cheers.
  13. I don’t think it was to do with wether the people with swastikas were arrested or not, mate, it was the fact the police told the Jewish woman that the swastikas had to be “taken in context” ! A pro Palestine/Hamas, anti Jewish/ Israeli protester with Nazi signs could only be taken in one context, I would have thought ? Seemed to me the police in question simply didn’t want to get involved . Cheers.
  14. The new hate speech laws that have been announced in Scotland today means you won’t be able to say “ hurry up, you auld Geordie” next time I’m up ! PMSL ! Cheers.
  15. “ If Kalvin Phillips plays for West Ham, so can anyone… “. Cheers.
  16. How fickle are fans , ehh ? West Ham fans giving it the “ole’s” and singing “ sit down if your 3-1 down”. Ten minutes later the Newcastle fans singing “stand up if your 4-3 up” and the West Ham fans abusing the manager and the players and one of the players giving the fans the finger as he boarded the bus ! As someone once said; “ it’s a funny old game” ! Cheers.
  17. Bruce, possibly the most successful working rescue dog ? Cheers.
  18. He looked like he was ready to top himself when we equalised, Wilfy ! Bettleguise is a bit of a joke up here after his spell at Sunderland, only time the Geordies and Mackems agreed on anything ! LOL ! Cheers.
  19. I don’t know about how the injuries occour mate, I can only guess it’s the high intensity, high pressing game Newcastle play. As for Gordon, yeah we will miss him for two games, but Barnes isn’t a bad replacement ! Cheers.
  20. Well, Gnash and Wilfy won’t be happy but what a game ! Barnes has looked very good in his last two games, but more injuries for Newcastle. Cheers.
  21. Quite right, Wilfy. Almost 50 years ago I did some work on a “Round Table Class” RFA vessel, same as the Sir Galahad that was sunk in the Falklands War. The Chief Engineer was American and the below deck crew were Chinese, Formosans, actually, but the Captain and Officers were British. Nothing new to having TCN crews. Cheers.
  22. I saw that on a documentary one time. If man is still around in 2000 years, they will discover it and assume it had some mystical or religious symbolism like Stonehenge or the pyramids! Cheers.
  23. You’re pals with Stephen Merchant ??? Kudos , mate ! Cheers.
  24. The Royal Family told MI5, MI6, CIA, Bill Gates, the W.E.F. , the Rothschilds, the Illuminati, (take your pick), to hack the ship’s computer system and make it hit the bridge, to take the attention away from Catherine ! Thought I’d just get in first ! LOL ! Cheers.
  25. Have it valued at an auction house . Cheers.
