    What am I exaggerating? Are you saying the “chicken nuggets “ case didn’t happen ? It’s well reported and documented. I used it as an example of how the original drafting and meaning of the ECHR laws have been twisted and abused. There are many more examples.     I don’t think Churchill had allowing illegal peadophile rapists to avoid deportation because his kid didn’t like foreign chicken nuggets in mind when drafting the ECHR laws and rules !LOL! I still don’t know what you’re getting at, are you for mass immigration, legal and illegal ? Or for a managed and fair immigration system ? Or for zero immigration ? Ive answered your questions as best I can with my own opinions and anecdotes but you reply to my every answer with another provocative question. I can’t really add much more. Cheers.

    Of course. If they can convince the panel that they are in danger of persecution if they are returned, they will likely get asylum. If they can’t convince the panel that they will be subjected to persecution , their application will be refused. Thats when the lefty lawyers move in and start quoting ECHR laws and rules and the interminable appeals start. Cheers.

    When my son was an ECO he used to have us in stitches with the stories of bogus visa applications. One was a Bangladeshi who claimed to be a “cabaret singer “ and had a job waiting for him but couldn’t name the employer or company. My son asked him to sing Sinatras “My way” but he said he had never heard of it, he was then asked to sing any of his repertoire but couldn’t. He finally admitted he wanted to go to London and ask around the Indian restaurants for a waiters job. His application was refused…. Cheers.

    Probably because their stories are obviously lies and they get caught out. If they say they are from Afghanistan and can’t speak any of the languages or can’t name the town or village they are from then they will be bogus and their claim rejected. If they say they are from Iraq but can only speak Albanian i’ts a bit of a give away ! LOL ! it really is that simple. Cheets.

    They don’t have to convince anyone. They just have to say they are from certain countries where they are being persecuted. Even if their claim is refused they can’t be sent back to certain countries such as Afghanistan for fear persecution. Its a catch 22, they fail the asylum claim but we can’t return them. ECHR laws over rule ours . Cheers.

    My wife’s cousin is married to a Vietnamese woman . They’ve been married many years and lived in Saudi and then to Cyprus where they both got EU citizenship, whatever that is. They decided to retire and come back to live, in his case, in the UK. They were made to jump through so many hoops to get her right to remain, English language test, citizenship test, biometric eye test, etc. At a huge financial cost. I’ve got to go and see to the poultry and dogs, but let’s put it this way; If I had to , theoretically, accept an immigrant, I’d far rather it was one who went through the system and was accepted, than one who turned up on boat without any means of identification!     You can’t, just like you can’t conflate LEGAL immigration with ILLEGAL immigration . As I said, I think legal immigration is far to high, but at least we have a good idea who they are and WE let them in. Cheers.

    My sons wife is Saudi, their son is a British citizen and passport holder. When she applied for a visit visa to come and see us she had to provide bank statements to show she had sufficient means, a return ticket, a letter from her employer saying she would be returning to work after her visit, a letter from my wife and myself saying she would be staying with us and we would be responsible for her and she paid the equivalent of £1,000 for a ten year multiple visit visa. Illegal immigrants provide not one iota of proof who they are or where they are from. Cheers.

    No, I never said that. My son was Entry Clearance Officer at the British Consulate in Saudi Arabia, he interviewed thousands of visa applicants and turned down far more than he accepted. I personally think legal immigration is far to high, but they applied for a visa and went through the system. Illegal immigrants dont. Cheers.

    It used to be, ( maybe still is), that if you flew into the UK without the correct passport, visa or documentation, you were held by immigration services then put on the next ‘plane back to where the flight you arrived on originated, irrespective of country. Why can’t the same rule/law apply to people arriving by boat ? Put on a ferry back to the country they sailed from ? I don’t know the answer, maybe it’s because our government simply don’t want to do it ? Cheers.

    I’ve been talking to a few lads both inside and outside the club and it looks like Isak is burning his bridges. I don’t know how true it is but he’s supposed to have invented the thigh injury to get out of the Asia tour and has now walked out of Darsley Park training ground.
