  3. Lima, first cross deer/grey bitch, and Bruce the rescue dog, both in their old age; Cheers.
  4. Definitely 80’s , Saudi desert. Handy for keeping up with those bloody Salukis when they took off ! LOL ! Cheers.
  5. I used to like the bikes, but I gave up when I got to an age when I broke rather than bounced when I came off ! Cheers.
  6. I’m sure Dave won’t mind me putting this picture of Bruce on here. Another time on the Scottish hills, waiting for a bolt. Also had four days up the Cairngorms with them. Bruce was top class. Cheers.
  7. Being so big and big boned I wouldnt rush them but nothing wrong with taking them along for a look with another dog. Beddy Dave let me tag along with the pup when she was about 6 months old to watch his young bitch working the Scottish hills. Of course I didn’t run her but she watched the action and got to taste a bit of fur. She was around 13 month when she had her first hare. Cheers.
  8. I find them no better or no worse than other types and I’ve owned most types, pures and crosses. Like getting any type, you must do your homework with the breeding, parents , etc. I obviously wouldn’t get one just for, say, ferreting or lamping rabbits. They will do that but there’s better types for the job. I mainly run hares and roe these days and the odd fox, and the deer crosses will do that as well as anything else. Its just a personal choice, I like them as they are easy to live with, and do what I want of them. Ive a soft spot for whippets, beddy’s, Salukis and
  9. Yes, same greyhound dam, but the sire is pure deerhound son of my bitches sire. So very closely related. Cheers.
  10. Of topic, but if anyone likes a bit of “leg” on their dogs, have a look at this pup; 8 month old first cross deer/grey . Cheers.
  11. A pup of Typps from some years back; Not a collie cross, it was 1/4 GSD X 3/4 greyhound. Cheers.
  12. A pal I hunted with in Australia; A Samba with a mixed pack of bloodhounds and beagles. Cheers.
  13. Daytime roebuck with the little beddy type; Shitty head gear on it but a decent size buck. Cheers.
  14. Was 71 a couple of weeks ago and had my yearly medical yesterday; all fine. Got my dental check tomorrow, still got all my teeth except one that got snapped, not expecting any problems. Ive got a kind of “lived in face” and bald as a coot, so I’d just be wasting money on any attempts at beautification ! LOL ! Cheers.
  15. Were you getting a “trout pout” Mac ? Cheers.
  16. You googled “hors de combat” , didn’t you ? LOL ! Cheers.
  17. There’s times you crack me up, Wilfy lad ! LOL ! Cheers.
  18. While we’re on about lamping Joe, remember these batteries I got off you about 15 years ago ? Well, with sensible rotation and trickle charging, I’m still using one of them ! None of that fancy Lithium Ion here, old school, me ! (Or some may say tight f****r PMSL). Cheers.
  19. I can’t remember, it’s from an old iPad that doesn’t seem to show the details like a more modern iPhone. I had Delta with me and I got her in ‘06 and she was two or three, so it was probably about ‘09. Cheers.
  20. Alan used to be on here; shame he isn’t now, his input would have been interesting. His dad raced non-ped whippets at the same tracks as me back a long time ago; I wonder if it influenced Alan’s “need for speed” in a coursing dog ? Who knows, just a tenuous but interesting connection between whippets and coursing dogs. Cheers.
  21. One of the funniest shows I’ve ever been to ! Fred West judging, He wouldn’t entertain a marked up bull cross or a brindle lurcher. God knows what he thought of that half cross of yours that I showed ! LOL ! Cheers.
  22. Me and Chipper embarrassing the old lad in his retirement ! Cheers.
  23. Old deer x and a pair of coursing bred pups. Five off the first field in a few minutes, it was slaughter so went home. At least the pups saw a bit. Cheers.
  24. No mate, I got beat in the quarter final one year and the semi final next year. Bruce won the comp both times it was run. I had Bruce in my kennel a few times and he was class day and night . Cheers.
