  1. I could be described as a Panglossian Noctivagant ! A happy lamper ! LOL ! Cheers.
  2. Some better pics, please , and any information on its breeding ? Thanks in advance . Cheers .
  3. I thought it was a Village People tribute band …… ! LOL ! Cheers.
  4. Didn’t know there were tin mines in the north east. May have been but I’ve not heard of them. Cheers.
  5. I remember an old miner saying “ I like them that shallow, you can look up and see the turnip roots” ! Cheers.
  6. There were pits in the Newcastle/Northumberland area that went miles out under the North Sea, a standard joke was “ No wonder the Germans are pissed off with us… we’re pinching their coal “ ! Cheers.
  7. Both my children had what was known as “Mid-Atlantic” accents, but my daughters accent would change to the accent of wherever the accent of the person she was talking to was from; American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and even Geordie, but my sons accent never changed, I guess it may have been influenced by their jobs. My grandson has a very neutral accent, but for some reason he’s the only member of both sides of his family that “rolls his R’s” . Haven’t got a clue why . Cheers.
  8. There’s the Porn Hotel in Pattaya; Freudian Slip, perhaps ? Cheers.
  9. Had the opposite on Saturday ; it was a nice day and my missus hung out the washing to dry , as did at least two of the neighbours, then a bloke who’s just moved in behind us has a bonfire , billowing black smoke everywhere ! The ladies weren’t to pleased and the lady next door, a fiery young filly, leans out of an upstairs window and gave the fire starter some choice words ! The bloke seemed genuinely surprised, put the fire out and came round and apologised to the women . Fair doe’s to him, he probably realised he didn’t want to piss off all the women in the street when he’s just
  10. I had an HGV Class one from I was 21 ‘till I was 65. The company I worked for put me through the test as we were developing, fitting, calibrating and testing tachographs in there early days. I kept renewing it even when I lived abroad as I thought it would allways be handy to have, but gave it up when I reached the age when I needed regular medicals to renew and the doctors wanted £150 for the medical. Great fun driving a 40’ low loader artic, but I probably wouldn’t have wanted to do it for a living for the whole of my career. Cheers.
  11. One time my missus was off on her travels at around Xmas time and my son came over from Saudi to see me. We got a taxi to my brothers for Xmas dinner, had a great time and got a taxi home . The driver didn’t have the meter on and tried to charge twice as much as the first journey ! I was not having that and told him I’d fight him, I win, pay nothing, he win I pay twice what he was asking . My son was a diplomat in the British Consulate in Saudi at the time and was aghast at what was happening! ! The driver quickly backed down and I gave him the same fare as the outward journey
  12. I normally throw a “left fielder” in when I get a taxi home here in Newcastle by asking the driver where he’s from and telling him in his own language that he better not rip me off ! Cheers.
  13. I was bartering for this in the old suq in Jeddah in my poor arabic and the guy wanted SR300, then my son spoke to him in arabic , showed him photos of his Saudi wife and his son and suddenly the price was SR100 ! Cheers.
  14. And tagalog, Thai and various central Asian dialects…… Cheers.
  15. My two children went to school in the Middle East in an English/ American school curriculums and learned Arabic as their second language, but when my son went to boarding school in England for his final few years, he was taught German, for some reason that escapes me ! My two nieces who are New Zealanders we’re taught Japanese and Chinese as second languages. Id say these days, just in my opinion, mind you, the languages a youngster would need are, in order of importance are; English, Chinese, Spanish, ( because of the South American countries that speak it), Arabic, Japanese, Frenc
  16. I once spent an entire long haul flight trying to converse in my pidgin Italian with a steward , he kept me well supplied in drinks and was very pleasant, but as I disembarked, he whispered “ by the way, I’m Spanish”, I replied “ ces’t la vie” and he laughed…. Cheers.
  17. Surely you get your own southern hemisphere’s version, Aurora Australis down there ? Gu’day, mate !
  18. I speak English, well, as much as a Geordie can ! And also get by in Arabic. I can have very basic conversations in a couple of other languages, and can manage a menu in a few other languages. Interesting that Spanish is a Romance language, but the Germanic/ Anglo Saxon “carnage” isn’t to far from the Spanish for “ butchery “. My grandson is fluent in spoken, written and reading English and Arabic and is learning Japanese. Three massively different languages. He’s won his school spelling bee two years in a row against older children, so I’m guessing he has an aptitude for it !
  19. Newcastle have had a roller coaster ride with managers over the years, some, like Alladyce, McClaren, Joe Kinnear, Bruce, we’re hated by the fans and achieved nothing. Some, like Robson, Keegan, Benitez, we’re loved by the fans but, again, achieved nothing. We’ve had the all out attacking and flair of Keenan’s “Entertainers” to the dire, soul destroying negativity of Bruce, who championed “ not getting beat over winning” ! Now we have a manager in Howe, who is adored by the fans and is playing the football most fans anywhere would like to see. Will he win anything ? I hope
  20. Perhaps the pervert got turned on watching that fat tart shitting in the fountain ? Cheers.
  21. We don’t molest seagulls, though…… Man jailed for performing sex act while kneeling over captured seagull NEWS.SKY.COM David Lee, 40, told police that he believed the seagull was hurt and that he was searching for a vet's number... Stones, glass houses, etc, LOL ! Cheers.
  22. There’s a complete breakdown of society that enables these freaks to think they can do these things. We are seeing the decline and fall of western society, it’s nothing new, think of the Roman Empire, the mongol empire, the Austro Hungarian empire, the Soviet empire, and others. There isn’t a strong man or a strong political party that will say “ stop ! Enough! This madness has to end”! Just look at what happened yesterday, a Tory from the “far right” of the party, a prominent member of the ERG, crossed the floor of parliament and joined Labour and was welcomed with open arms by Star
  23. Keegan owned a greyhound called “Blue Star”, that raced at Brough Park . Cheers.
  24. Looks like we are getting our own “Geordie Stig”; Newcastle United tease new partnership deal that has fans in a frenzy | NUFCFEED NUFCFEED.COM Newcastle United's social media team have whipped up quite a storm today by putting out a teaser for an upcoming... Cheers.
