What he really means . Sorry lads , couldn’t hep it ! LOL ! Cheers.

Just the opposite mate ! I was 13 when I got my first whippet and listening to the old timers was where I got my grounding in running dogs. Im a great believer in some of the old sayings; ”Sometimes it’s best to stay silent and appear ignorant , than to speak and remove all doubt”; ”A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing”; There’s lads on here that have been kind enough to invite me onto their permission, and they will tell you the first thing I say is “if there’s something I’m doing wrong , tell me, if there’s something I should be doing, tell me”. Im never

I only smile in private, I’d hate to ruin my reputation ! Cheers.

I don’t know about “ruling and dominating” , LOL !, but I’m old enough to to remember racing whippets with some of the top coursing mens dads ! You’ll know that running hares up here around the borders on the fells and uplands is a completely different game to running on the fens and flatlands. Running the white hares on the frozen heather and scree is different again ! It’s great to get about and try different scenarios, I have a wry smile when people say their hares/rabbits/deer are the best. Cheers

I remember the old saying when talking about coursing dogs; “ don’t believe anything you hear and only half of what you see ! “ LOL ! Cheers.

Any land; any time, anywhere ! LOL ! Cheers.

What about the fells, pasture land etc? There’s hares on all types of land. I can walk to grassland in five minutes and run hares. There’s a lot of fields left to rewild, it isn’t only wet sodden clay ! Cheers.

Max bred two litter from a coursing bred bitch; one to a pure saluki, one to a non-ped scratch dog. If he wasn’t banned, it would be good to hear his opinion on the pro’s and con’s. Cheers.

“Horses for courses”, as I said . Cheers.

Non-ped whippet, grew, sprint type greyhound. Something with great early pace, good mouth, up and at’em type; not a plodder taking ten minutes to wear a hare down ! LOL ! Cheers.

It took a while…..but I’m a very patient fisherman ! LOL ! Cheers.

I’ve had dogs that were straight lined by hares all over the UK and Ireland ! LOL ! Cheers.

“Whizz banger coursing bred” is probably the ultimate oxymoron ! LOL ! Cheers.

Double post for some reason .

If you want a dog that settles in behind a hare for 5,6,7,8, minutes, and can do three out of three, that’s fine. If you want a whizz banger that can do one in quick time or maybe even two, then that’s also fine. I used to like the former, but due to now wanting to be on the land of off again quickly, I now prefer the latter. “Horses for courses”, or “Hounds for grounds”, as they say. Your dog….your choice ! Cheers.

I detect an up tick in your mood, old pal ! I’m pleased Cheers.

I was 62 when I became a grandparent. Going swimming, playing football etc with a 9 year old boy is a bit of a challenge but I wouldn’t miss it for the world ! Cheers.

I’m well retired now mate ! I’ve been out the loop for more than 20 years. I was offered a days work recently for insane money, but I’ve had no recurrent training and I’m not conversant with the newer codes, so if something went “bang” I’d be in serious trouble ! LOL ! Cheers.

I think the Slack family had something to do with that club. I know Rupert ran his deerhound crosses around that area. Cheers.

My pal that run the Yorkshire Game Fair had permission around Selby. Been coursing and lamping there a couple of times . Cheers.

To go further off topic; I once spent six nights in Changi departure lounge. I was returning from Australia on free tickets and got bumped of in Singapore for a fare paying passenger . I was to tight to buy a ticket so slept in the airport until Emirates said they could get me free seat to Dubai so I jumped at it. Once in Dubai, they said they could get me to Manchester for free that day or Newcastle the next. I decided on a night in DBX and get the flight the next day. Changi and DBX; two wonderful airports with plenty to do. So, seven nights in those airports, or seven ni
