    Just been watching the box this morning. Little program of the videos from the royal Archives. The Queen from 70 years ago when she was a young lady her love of horses an the countryside with Philip.     Just cleaned my flight cages out an moved all my birds into flights now there strong enough to get about more. Nowt worse than trying to put birds into flights an they just drop to floor headache lol

    If you've got some spare mesh make some frames out of quarter size wood trim an mesh them up for bottoms of cage. Stops birds eatin the shite off the bottom of cage floors. You'll have no worries then them pickin any diseases up. You dont want the young catching owt specially when they've managed to get them to sticks. There easy to make mate just take measurements of inner sides of cage at bottoms where pullout draws are. You can use the pull out draw for a template makes it easier. Will let you know mate what I've left. All of these young have been fed on frozen insets buffalo worms pinkies.

I've just gifted a few with a pair of Mexicans to an old chap near me who's had abit of bad luck this season with his sib goldys not rearing so gifted a few pairs , so hopefully next season he'll have a better one. Worked out not so bad ended up coming home with 4 brand new pine doors from his place ?.

    I'm happy with how this pieds turning out nearly through moult one of this years young. I'm hoping it's a hen so that next season a can try pair it with a more experienced satenet pied bird. So that hopefully produce some pied satenet young.

    Had a good year with the timbrado canaries bred 55. Here's a few from the last round. Sold a gentleman 20 from Derbyshire unsexed few weeks ago all from diffrent parenting. Was saying that he'd been to Durham the week before an came home with 30. Wanted to take them all but I need some for next season.

    Nice to see abit of rain guys. For me it means day off work no roofing today for me. Think a will sort the birds out nice mooch with the dogs then come back to watch this Scottish sitcom called ( still game ) Been watching it over the weekend never laughed as much. Its up there with Mrs browns boys it's about two old guys pensioners who are best pals honest it you’ve not watched it its a must. You've got to have a great sense of humour which a know a few have on here.

    Went for another mooch yesterday with pup she's coming on well guys. She's starting to use her nose now venturing infront. Yesterday she was in an out of this little woodland an on the side of some stubble fields an on the banks you could see where somethings been tunneling through the long grass edge backings to go into the stubble fields an she picked up on it in an out of the cover.     It's true would you sing at a hen that's in moult lol. An she'll be same with him. Once it gets to birds moulting out the cock birds won't sing much now till next year normally. You'll get odd note now an then but soon as day light starts to change that's it till the nights get shorter an day time gets longer. Unless you've got your birds on artificial light.

    Just been in bird room looking at the birds an this bird here looks to have abit of pastel init. It's just come through the moult it's one I've bred this season. Anyone tried breeding a brown pastel. I'm guna try next season. With this bird having pastel init if i buy in a brown bird or isabel will I get the brown pastel or isabel or does the brown or isabel bird have to have pied init already ? It's new to me the pied game

    These young here are from a pair of whitetops a good pair of birds. The young here are from the 3rd round there's two whitetops an one eumo that's come out of this round out of 4 eggs 3 were full other empty. But the whitetops are looking to be nice birds some nice markings

    We lost a local young man who's grandparents lived a few doors from me. He was turning into a great young man loved his rugby league wakefield trinity did a tribute for him. It guts me because his mother gave him up as a baby so had a shit start in life so his grandparents brought him up. He still turned into a polite young man always stopped to talk an had a thing for pad locks lol. Always asking me if I had a spare one. Then got the bad news about his accident ?.     Had my lad an nephew out in blow up kayak we've just bought best oner I've spent for abit of fun with weather we've had. You see alot of youngens wanting to go swimming in the waters with this hot weather a alot come stuck in the water some sadly get killed few in past couple of years have lost there lifes near me. My lad was wanting to go out with his mates down near River an i said no felt abit tight but scared too with how easy they can come stuck. So a thought ad buy one of these an he still can have fun but with me watching over them an safe. Have to admit we had some fun.

    Yesterday had a visit from my younger brother with his new born plus his older son our Ralph. Who wanted to see my birds he has a couple of chickens him self with his grandad to which he was telling me yesterday. Was brilliant listening to him talk about them at his age.     Went for a nice mooch round one of my local lake yesterday was a stunning morning. There's two parts of these lakes this side doesn't get fished as much. But there's still some specimen fish in the lake. The other side is the same but gets fished hell of a lot more. But with there being a few grass banks in the summer you get alot of Northern Europeans camping out making it hard to get to the swims.
