    As some will know I've a litter of pups on which are coming upto seven weeks of age. There's one male pup though that really aggressive constantly wanting to fight with the other pups. The pup will go out of his way to start trouble. Yesterday it started with him stood over one of the other males which it was submitting at this time.     Red mite can make your birds go light mate too harbouring diseases , specially the hens if there on young in the nest , plus it will kill the young too if not treated straight away there a nightmare.     I've had them all out socialising hands on with them eastcoast pal. A can't do with going to pick a pup up an there shying away in corner never been socialised or you can tell they've been knocked about shying away to the hand. A love to see pups bouncing about playing like they should be. There's not a bad one among these pups all grand looking.

    Came across a male goldfinch singing away on a telephone wire this morning an knew there must be a female near by. Low an behold there she was sat tight on the nest in some young thorn great to see. Some lads are finding it hard with the native birds in captivity but in the wild there doing fine.     Ano what you mean mate he went to derwent show with him weekend just gone an did well there. With terriers an lurchers this man works his dogs. I've a couple who live up the road from me that have deerhounds an go to the shows never worked the dogs an ferrets show them too same never worked. Them days have gone where you could be out grafting on a morning then to a show in the afternoon with the terriers. Too many too Gooders go to the shows now an would have the law there if they saw a terrier knocked up.

    Well your one of a few on here that knows men's dogs an what they do more than the owners. An just from looking at a picture you can say weather they work or not your some clever chappy.     He's not doing too bad with sire to the pups out daily working with him an his winning a few shows with him an his pat too. He's had alot of interest in him too at the shows an comments on his stamp. Because no matter what some of you may say he's a grand looking dog. And hopefully now he's in the right hands he'll turn out good.

    You'll see a few pups forsale that are surplus after lads have had what they want out of the litters they've bred. You won't see many giving pups away pal I've done it in past an a know lads that have done it too. Sometimes you'll get the odd cheeky c**t that will take the pup then few months down line sell the c**t. I had it done to me few years back not a saluki cross but a litter of whippets. A gifted the lad a whippet pup because he'd started coming out for a mooch with us lamping on a night you could see he was enjoying it which a was pleased to be in the company of an old school pal. A

    What I do if a pup runs or walks past me on recall and starts to become ignorant an bored with what im wanting them to do. I won't go towards the pup I will walk the opposite way an don't say a word or make eye contact. Just walk the opposite way. The pup will think wheres he going an follow. You'll soon see the pup at the side of you. Do that for a few weeks an you'll of sorted the dogs recall.

    Them two pups will bring the money back in that I've put in on feeding them. Chicken an tripe has gone up now 18 quid a box plus micro chipping , first vaccination , all time I've spent cleaning them out socialising them. Weighing them on a weekly basis to worm them. Like you say mate there surplus pups had to pay stud fee too. Nothing these days is cheap a can remember for jabs for dogs at a tenner it's now hitting 27 quid a dog nothing is cheap now.
