  3. They love fern but need to be decent size though otherwise the birds will just bash it to death then you'll have no ferns at all lol. My uncles out door flights had them in all trimmed to fit the flights. The birds used to love to nest in them more natural.
  4. A know they can flatten them self really thin can't they the little twats. I've just set a big cheese snapper with a nice lovely bit of homemade short bread on lol. My lad wasn't happy me giving the mouse some of the biscuit ? greedy b*****ds eaten about 10.
  5. I've a mouse ? now in one of my indoor flights baffled me how the hell it's got in lol. Because it's all the walls are pvc cladding 3 by 2 inch lengths of timber on the bottom of the flights no damage on the timber an one side wire quarter inch a can't see a mouse getting through that can you ? You can just see a hole in the easy bed chip on the floor little b*****d an mouse dropping all over. Last season a caught one on a sticky board good things them boards. A put them down for all creepy crawlies on top of the cages maybe thinking a might get some red mite. But birdroom Was clean due t

  7. Put some timber trimming round the bottom of the outside flight area stop all unwanted seeds blowing out onto the land. " Just prevents you getting unwanted rats an mice then mate " About a foot or two up from bottom of flight

  9. Yesterday had the day off work and took my grandfather an grandmother to one of the local garden centres. Past few weeks has been hard for my grandfather. Because one evening after tea he had a little turn like a fit. Hospital couldn't find anything wrong with his heart blood pressure was fine at the hospital. 10. Well this morning went in the birdroom to feed and water birds. And this pair have bonded cock bird mouthing the hen great sign to see.. Hen is the lutino pied cock the classic pied. Hopefully get a few from this pair.
  11. Nice pic of my young bitch from down local wood waiting for my command to carry on scenting in some cover. Nice steady bitch some times her head goes when she's on a fresh scent and goes out of sight but that's due to her being young.
  12. Could be numerous of things. Could be lacking some kind of supplement. Does she give the bird calcium cuttlefish an iron block. You've to be careful with white birds if the breeder has bred two white birds together Could be short sighted some are born blind. An line breeding can do this too. It's same with pied goldfinches that's why I put a none visual bird to a DF pied or SF pied to a none visual bird. If you don't get it right with white birds you can end up with complications mate.
  13. Well this season I'm going to put this variegated cock bird with this old Siberian hen I've got see what comes of it. A know many will say cock goldfinch but it's just something I've spare so will see what happens. The variegated cock is showing interest in the hen already displaying of the wings an seem to get on. He's a lovely strong bird too as you'll see from image.
  14. That was the little bitch at the weekend just gone looking out on the river at a couple of mallards. Thinking can a swim out to them ?. If it wasn't for me holding her back by calling her. She would of been in for them. Once river drops and slows down. Im going to have a shot with catty at a male mallard see if she'll retrieve. Do believe she will she loves the water great little swimmer for a terrier. Loves to retrieve the dummy from local lake.
  15. Thing is with us Brits we knew this was happening along time before it's happened in many things that's been band an taken away from us. You only have to watch some old comedy or drama programs from back in 70s an 80s and you hear on there some of the things that's now true. One of them is what's happening with Ukraine Russia doing what there doing taking over Europe crushing us. But still we make moves about it or have Brits playing russians on dramas. But still down size our military over the past years abit long since ww2. A don't even think we can put a full second brigade together for th

  18. What about hunting been done in the next 20 years ? It will be mate because youths of today don't respect anything. More youngsters of today spend more time in the bedroom on the xbox or ps5 computers. Not only youngsters lol I've a neighbour benefit dodger sits in his bedroom all day on his ps5 ad say he's in his late 20s maybe early 30s. You can hear him screaming on a weekend when someone's beating him on the game. My lad said dad it's fortnight game he's on can see TV screen from our decking ? ?. So I do believe in next 20 years that hunting will be a thing of the past if we don't get our
  19. True many young fools don't help them selfs mate not educated enough. Alot of them see it on social media like Facebook or YouTube. And think a want a terrier or running dogs. Don't understand the laws or not care for the laws or the land owners land. This is where educating comes from. Many young hunters have a little knowledge on how to respect the land due to been educatored. Think alot of young green hunters need to be shown the values and respect that a hunter has for the land owner and there land. Many out there will of already been shown this or picked it up from a young age b
  20. Yuppies yet again moving into rural areas. The hunt has been going since 1534 a very long time. Another British tradition that's going down the swanie guys sickening to f**k. A hate to see this day in day out. They'll be banning all kinds of hunting. The bird game will be next hunting with birds of prey.
  21. Yesterday morning caught these two pottering about in the conifers looking for a nest sight. Not sure if its the same pair that used the area last season. I'm thinking it most probably is that pair. I've never seen this thought the cock bird feeding the hen in the wild it's a first for me this. Sorry the images are poor guys.
