  2. Never knew one of your dogs won the stock car racing mate, well done. Next year we are going for F1 status............
  3. I have trained a NASDU winner, several kennel club working trial certificate and ticket winners but nowdays im happy with basic obedience from my mutts..............
  4. Many farmers use their "work" dogs for everyday use and also choose to compete in trials, others do little real work but are specialists at a simple trial, more trained for one task rather than the diverse aspects of farmwork and expected to use initiative.......
  5. Quiet around there aswell, know it well, surprised how many sheep get nicked............
  6. Trained a few Raiye, especially the waggerland line, they are very hyper and over excitable and imo a calmer farm dog would be a better proposition to base a lurcher on............
  7. Oh and the concentration levels are something else........
  8. Really mate? I always see 50/60 a night whilst lamping on my permission, and further south in Lincs i could see well over 150 in a night..................

  14. Who knows, thousands upon thousands. When buying a car it was always for the dogs, house had to have space for kennels, kennels themselves, dogs, locators, shovels, leads, nets, lamps. Thats just the initial outlay, then the ongoing costs og vet treatment, medication, disinfectant, food, plus diesel etc etc, feck me its expensive
  15. Im in no rush and start mine on the lamp around 12 months, all depends on the individual dog.........
  16. Malt summed it up for me perfectly, and only a complete idiot would sell this dog on with a trial, i guess we all have different morals but i couldn't sleep at night if one of mine bit a child, especially if i had sold it on knowing it was a biter........
  17. Keep annoying them levs...........
  18. I just pulled a red stag with two Italian greyhounds.....i typed it here so it must be true
  19. Anyone else smell something? And i dont mean my dinner cooking.........
  20. The size of mine means no slipping, just brute force.......
  21. I agree that occasionally world beaters will crop up from indifferent parents, although as you say you have no idea of the parentage so the parents could of been line bred anyway! No offence mate but the "incredible things" you describe sound decidedly average to me. Also his obedience sounds awfull, not a dig mate but perhaps you are looking through rose coloured glasses..............
  22. So a theif can break in and shoot you when you come out the back door
