Bergara B13 take down, any experiences?
KimE replied to Tyla's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Yes I have one in 300blk I have used it for beaver, capercaillie and blackgrouse. 84cm long I put a small 3-9*33 scope on it I really like it its my most used rifle right now. -
Nice gun FN do now call it their own. The only way to try the choke is to shoot it with steel.

Look at a map online then you can take messures on the computer on objects you can see in the picture. Also if your thumb are 1,5cm on your arm 1m from your eye an object who are 100m away will bee 1,5m if the same size a 15m high tree are 1000m away if its the same as your thumb are wide.

Whats crazy I have had one with rifle and combination gun on it. In Sweden are a shotgun a firearm and it would be added just like any firearm on the passport. I waited two months for my firearm passport then I walked in to the local policestation and the women twho handels firearm applications just wrote it in with a pen (2013).

Its allowed to use a single barrel shotgun for boar in Sweden it was popular to get a semiauto in the 1990s then pigs were coming to more areas they work well for close shots but they dont always show up close and most times you also hunt roedeer or other animals at the same time and they are forbidden to shoot with shotgun slugs. I have mainly used my .308w and sometimes my combi 12/6,5*55 most hunters use rifles now for all hunting with dogs or at a feeding place.

We continued to walk out to a logged area with some pines still left on it a capercaillie flew up and sat in a pine 200m from me I shot it. Before we could walk to it we saw one more caper so P beguinned to stalk closer on it shot he shot several rounds with his rifle but it was still sitting there??? He asked me to shoot it so I did, again P saw a new caper in a pine he asked

The rule now (until of1july) is what you need a permit/licence for you silencer if you want to bring it to Sweden and it needs to be marked with a individual numbers, so its a problem if you come from a country there you dont need a permit for it.

We took a break and had some coffe and sandwiches. When we beguinn to hunt again P saw a blackgrouse so we walked in that direction , then I saw a Capercaillie in a tree so we both beguinn to stalk it ohh it were two, P took the first shot and missed it I shot in the same time and missed mine but it still sat there in the top of the pine so I held the second shot higher and I saw it flap out with his wings, P had troubble to reload his mauser i was faster with my singleshot rifle. We made a search and I only found three feathers so P and I stood on different sides of a forest ditch to talk sud

Today P and I went out to walkup / hunt caper and blackgrouse in tops of the trees. It was a sunny day with almost no wind -8c a really perfect day. After only a short walk we saw a few Blackgrouses in a birch I took a shot with my Bergara rifle and I missed..... We split up and after a short walk again I had a few blackgrouses flying to some trees ~300m away after a short stalk two of the birds flyed away so I tryed at the last one laying prone on a stump. Bang after the shot the bird flyed away with stiff wings damn what happened??? We made a search after it in the way it flew I only sa

rimfire CZ457 SYNTHETIC
KimE replied to Rimfire Rifles Freedom's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
A 10/22 is 770$, CZ 457 855$ and Tikka T3x1 is 1080$ here. -
Our Swedish government has made a proposition to make silencers license free, now you need a firearm permit for the silencer alone which costs ~30£. The new law makes silencer equal to ammunition (you show your firearm license then you buy ammo) the new law a supposed to come in force 1july. The rules for traveling in and out of the country with silencers are also going to change. Im not sure how different calibers are going to be treated as you usually dont get a permit for silencer on rimfires now.

Commercialised deer stalking Scottish highlands
KimE replied to Stone14's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
Here in northern Sweden being a member of a moose hunting club costs about 400£ / year and you get about 30-50kg of meat, the majority of moose teams hunt with dogs. A smallgame (including roe and lynx) lease cost about 50£/year. -
Yes I know about UK deer caliber , the Wolfdog are from Mississippi they do probably have 22cf as a minimum for deer. Its strange UK dont allow 223r for roedeer.
-
For do it all i .308w from fox to moose I have used Hornady 165gr sp, Norma Oryx 180gr and Nosler Accubond , moose are the what makes the limit of bullet choice. I wouldn`t choose a match bullet for do it all up to deer in 223r I would use a softpoint like a Norma 62gr or Sierra Game King. A bullet I want to try are Red Moose Tarvas. https://www.redmoose.eu/tarvas_bullets/how-the-tarvas-bullet-works

Some pistol shooters I know use a eye blocker for one of their eyes. For older shotgun shooters who lose the sight of their dominant eye an offset mounted red dot can work , one gunssmith made a new shotgun rib offset to the left, an other option is a custom made stock from the right shoulder to the left eye.
