New hunter, what caliber rifle?

I have shot several mooses with both 6,5*55 156gr/10g cup and core and .308w 165gr/10.7g- 180gr/11,7g cup and core I havn`t noticed any difference in performance they worked just fine. Both cal. are popular for wildboar in Sweden normally a hunter who has both takes the rifle with the best low light scope. The normal weight of monometal bullets for the 6,5 are about 120gr and for biggame in Sweden 139gr are the minimum legal bullet weight so its used with jacketed lead bullets here. -
As for 500s my .497cal 12,17*44r must be legal for small game in UK? A 630gr bullet in 1000fps.

I tryed my 300blk with the new silencer with 110gr sierra varmint supersonic it doesn`t have any recoil anymore (small recoil anyway compared to 308w) and you dont need hearing protection. With 125gr plated lead bullets subsonic its the hit in the target and back wall who sounds loudest. Our socialist government dropped the requirement for a license for silencers this june. nightvision are allowed in Sweden for pigs only not for fox, deer and other game/varmint.

I did some plinking rounds for my 300blk. H&N 125gr cupper plated HP lead bullet Vihtavuori N120 9,5gr Murom small pistol primer. =0,25£ Accurate? Good enough for fox to 100m.

Now have I bought a Stalon Victor silencer without need for a license , I do need a license for for rifle of a fitting cal. and it must be threaded with a fitting thread to be legal. If I sell my threaded rifle the silencer are illegal to posess , to sell the silencer I have to check if the buyer has a licence for the rifle and has to try it on to see so it fits the threads I do not have to register who the buyer is(It still very confusing rules the government and the police have different interpretation of the new law).

I have used radios while moose hunting in a team with 20+ hunters spread over 1500ha, about 2-3 dogs are typically released and their handlers are walking over the area. The radios used can be heared 1-3km.

Northern Sweden, nice house 80000£ fixeruper 25000£. Tour own small hunting property With house 100000£. 1-2 hour flight from UK. Day lease for smallgame hunting 20£. Most people speak english.

Yes 277sig fury, its expensive now while Lake City are building a productionline for it after what SigSauer probably can get their ammo out to civilists. It would work for me to neckdown .308w and neckdown and reload to 60000psi. But the action and barrel has to get profed for 80000*1,25. As for now most.270s are twisted for light bullets now you are going to get 160-175gr bullets suited for big game. -

Yes what is an ok pay relative to ordinary Swedish salorys, I just bought an expensive house (for the area) for ~60000£. Most jobs are adapted to modern standards and are subject to union regulations. For fishing you just pay the local fee.

to Överkalix close to the arctic circle after I got a new job within forestry I have bought a new house close to Swedens best salmon river. Plenty of opportunitys for small game and fishing A couple of spring photos by the river during the spring flood now in may-june. A forrest with Mallard ducks.

This was about the time I (10-12y)were introduced to hunting by my uncle Sture we were hunting with his Hamilton stövare/running dog he wounded the hare with his drilling and didn´t have enough ammo so he had to beat it to death with a stick.... and yes I was hooked in to hunting. Its a 12g-6,5*55 drilling made by merkel.

22lr CCI standard 5£/50 CCI 200 LR 63£/1000 it used to be ~42£. Vihtavuori 1lb/54£ two years ago it were a similar price but for 1kg.

.270 is the new black as the US army choose it as their new caliber 6,8 with a case size similar to .308w.
