    Dynamite and exavators are used here too then they build to close to roads. I have seen them flood logging roads and once they under mined the railroad.

    Most beaver populations are healhty never heard of any dogs geeting sick here. The only dangerous thing were then a member in our hunting teams labrador retriever run out on thin ice over the rapid stream on the bang of the rifle and fetched a 15kg beaver.

    Go down to the river 1-2 hours before sunset there you have fresh cut trees.

    The beaver can only make a dam in small gills so they flood some small areas upstream but prevent flooding in larger rivers. The most typical dam is 20m long making the water level 50cm higher.

    Its a nice hunting game we have 7 months of hunting season for them, mostly we hunt in april-may then its off season for other game. Then I was a kid in the 1980s they were released in the stream by our house 20y later they were allowed for hunting.

"As far as a rifle, Mossberg Patriots are like $300 here all day. Again not sure about y'all. But my .243 only needed two days worth of load development to get nice fast sub MOA groups to the point it's pretty boring imo."

    The Swedish hunters accociation are running a birth control program on the border to Finland. They have steralized a bitch with a tracking collar and use it to find males and dens, its seems to work as they are seldom seen in other parts of Sweden.

    The rifles in what test are built for the US market , they have made compromises with the stocks , triggers, barrel attachment to fit the sub 400$ market. An used Tikka have adjustable trigger, nicer feeling to the stock, a used rem700 can be upgraded and custmomized for the long range shooting you want to do. A better quality scope is more likely to do what you want and keep its zero.

    Blackpowder is an explosive it ignites much easyer than nitro, if you keep your can in a cabinet it will cook down in to its components (with a lot of smoke) during a fire in your house.

    Here in the north Swedish fells its a middle year in a 11 year cycle based on the rodent/lemmings availabilty for predators, we found many chickens but it was far between them.

    We didn`t use any additional protection on the tent floor my brother are using an Exped sleeping mat he has used for several years with dogs without problem. You may get more wear on your gear with dogs but so far these dogs behaved really well and were so tired after a hunting day they lay down most of the time in the tent.

    Yes I love to be in the scandinavian alps nothing beats what feeling of freedom. I had a Helsport Nordmarkka 2 and the others had a Bergans Romsdal 3 , for dogs you need a bit thicker material in the sleeping mat. For backpacks i used a Haglöfs Nejd65 and my brother used a Arcteryx bora80.

    Hunting day four are a bit shorter as one of the dogs has got a limp and the other runs on 50% capacity because its tired, we walk to our cars instead of camping one night more.

    Third hunting day still a very nice weather. Rain deers around the tents the GWPs are trained to not react on them.

    Hunting with backpacks on through the second hunting day, we didn`t get many birds the dogs had it difficult to find them, the day were saved by the sunny weather and a terrain neasy enough to walk through.

    In the morning we went out and hunted without backpacks around a small lake and some marshlands we got a fiew birds. After lunch we packed up and hunted/hiked our way to the second camp place at the stream Lievasjokka.

    This year we decided to do a backpack grousehunt on three persons with two dogs. We had to pack and carry all dogfood, dogstuff, food for us self, ammo and two mountain tents for a five days roundtrip. The first afternoon before the huntingseason started we hiked up on the fell to have a good start the first morning, as the weather forcast had said it beguinn to rain then we had reached our first camp place. We had a very rainy and windy first night it it was still raining in the morning and lasted til noon.

    Here in Sweden we use GWP for as a bird pointing specialist and they must be deer clean.

    Six Irish walkers stuck on Sweden highest mountain Kebnekaise, they have bad equipment one of them are wearing shorts. It has been -10c during the night the police and mountain rescue are trying to reach them. Then its a glacier on a top of a mountain it usually are cold weather most of the time. I am going up close to this area tomorrow for a walk and hunt trip with tent and dogs.
