  1. the studies about vaccination failures have been huge, and the 4 protocol is what I've followed for 20 years, and never had a case of Parvo other than the 2 rescues, so my ratio of 100% effectiveness is pretty powerful convincing IMO
  2. love to hear it Socks, whats the condition of the dog? were there other stolen dogs out of the 40? What caused the police to make a visit to the site?
  3. Parvo is cyclical, everyone does a good job vaccinating regularly, then the crazy "anti vaccination" nuts will crop up, scare the bejeezus out of a good number of people, so they stop vaccinating, give it a few years and then it is back more virulant than ever before. I have seen 2 massive outbreaks over the years, even had 2 rescues with it a few years apart, so unfortunately have some experience with Parvo. The virus will shed at different rates and strengths, and is unpredictable in nature. Its most common (and easiest) passed along manner is in shit, but as said earlier urine and saliva
  4. the body is still maturing, joints still young, a couple of miles is one thing, but too much on a young dog is not good. About a year is more ideal IMO so she's not too far off
  5. she is a bit young to be fully roaded IMO
  6. yes Full Cry is still being printed
  7. they are browsers and can be unpredictable about what they will eat, and are escape artists ... the fencing needs to be 10000% secure! I personally dislike tethering but to each his own
  8. it can be stress related ... not enough fats in its diet ... it could have been washed and shampoo not rinsed out enough ... Could try making sure the dog is "happy" and calm, add 20% lard or beef fat to its food a couple of times a week, and wash it in a good quality human anti dandruff shampoo but rinse the dog thoroughly until you think it is all completely out, and then rinse it some more!
  9. nice! anyone know how many "types" of tigers there are? Siberian, Somalian etc?
  10. interesting, like founder but different, I've been lucky then to have never heard of it!
  11. what is strip mine grazing? I can pick horse shit up, haven't had to do it for about 20 years though, dog shit has become my specialty! We have two 2-acre pastures, one is my goat & chicken pasture, and the other is the pasture where the pond is. I am going to move some cattle panels to finish a third pasture in a 1-acre area that is completely overgrown, hip high thick pasture that I've not mowed this year. That way I can rest the overgrazed pasture, and rotate between the new pasture and the goat pasture. I don't have a harrow ... I could probably find a farmer who would

  15. good point, hopefully then Gonetoground has looked at all the lost dog sites going back a couple of years to see if he spots the dog
  16. sending out good thoughts your way Terrence!
  17. I have a pature that I haven't rotated, and now its been overgrazed ... what is the normal recovery time (assuming we have adequate rain every week). I only have one other pasture to rotate to so I don't want that one overgrazed too! Any suggestions to encourage growth?
  18. pm a moderator directly, they will tell you
  19. was the vet a regular vet or a running dog vet? what toe was it, (outside, middle 2, inside?) and what foot (front or back?)
  20. it could have been a casual "try Strongstuff, he probably sells it" rather than a malicious thing?
  21. no mark on the outside either? Could be a spider bite, bee sting etc.
  22. genuine question here, if the dogs in as bad a shape as you say (no muscle, bed sores etc), why in the world would you return the dog?
  23. I guess I'll stop bitching about the 50 quid each that we were quoted to have two of ours done! I was told they would be about 3 weeks off, tops, which is why we set the appointment to correspond with 3 weeks before we plan on starting roading for the season ... Maltenby, was it a running dog you had done? And how long was it off?
