  1. has he had any bad spills that you know of? If you know his breeding you should probably ask if the line has epilepsy in it? Good luck
  2. I've heard nothing but good things about his dogs/pups hardiness and hunting abilities
  3. this is not silverpaws Saluki, it is a reascue whippet I think that grew up fine with straight legs. I don't know if "ricketts" is actually what the pups had? The ones I dealt with pretty much looked like they had broken their pasterns, and walked like they had flippers instead of feet. truly awful to see!
  4. please get in touch, all papers in order, ready to travel now, anywhere in the US.

    you got that right hun
  7. I fostered 3 "pit bulls" that had similar to what Silverpaws pup had ... they almost look like they are wearing flippers on their feet good food and a few weeks and they were correcting themselves, but all 3 were fed the worst of the worst food and were malnourished. Didn't silverpaws sell the pup, was given it back (unknown if she returned the money?), and then sold it again?
  8. silverpaws, I tried to find the pic she posted but it's been deleted ... meerihunter may have it somewhere though? here's some links to similar http://www.greatdanelady.com/articles/knuckling_over.htm http://www.lurcherlink.org/llink/forum/viewtopic.php?p=558424&highlight=#558424
  9. on around the yard (with tags with both of our cell numbers riveted to them) but we take them off when running coon because they can hold onto the collar and make things hard on the dog.
  10. Kye has a dog that has done this twice when he got after something when he was not fit ... he can run jackrabbits in the 70's when fit and have no problems, but twice after layoff from injuries when run with snow on the ground he collapsed afterwards and looked like he was seizuring ... likely your problem is due to fitness as hairbull said.
  11. what have you been doing to get your dog fit after the spring and summer layoff?
  12. filsons and the double front carhart are good, the carhartts aren't waterPROOF but do a good job being resistant and wear exceptionally well
  13. how did you find the owner, and what did he say?
  14. some forums you have to know someone personally who is a member in order to be allowed on ...
  15. there are lots of threads on lurcher fitness, do a search and you'll find them. I don't think I'd run a dog 18 times in one night if it only caught one ... why was it missing so many? bad slips, giving up, bad running area?
  16. rest is best, you could always try something like "bag balm" or "udder butter" for cows teats, but most dogs just lick it off and they run it all around their kennel or your house so I don't think it ends up doing much good.
  17. looking forward to some regular trips out Kansas way to see how they do on the jackrabbits the boys the girls hard to describe the grizzly blue color ... probably will change as they get older, but it is quite interesting.
  18. Thanks for the complements, coon fight with teeth and feet and every other part of their body, a dog really has to learn how to deal with them although I've got one who has just done them "right" the few times he's seen them this year. They are not fast or twisty like a fox but they are clever and are not afraid of much, and they are masters in the water and drown big hounds when they get the chance. This litter was bred more for running game then toothed, although both parents have taken most US quarry well
  19. what is the festival, all just track racing, or other things too?
  20. step 1 a few years of this Step 2 a few days of this Step 3 one day left Step 4 7 of these
  21. they look quite good and seems like they'd be easy to clean, keep sanitized, and something you'd never have to buy more than once! It is a lot of money, but if you have it, go right ahead!
  22. lol you'd best get a handle on that stockbreaking lol pups looking well
  23. some chickenfeed had spilled on the driveway so my barnyard fowl and wild birds have been scratting around right in view outside a window. I have a blue swedish drake who for the past 3 mornings I have witnessed doing something surprising (to me anyway) ... he has been hunting and occasionally catching little birds who are scratting around the spilled feed. He appears to have caught & eaten a few, or am I "seeing" things?
  24. any improvement yet with your dog? What have you done to change his diet etc?
  25. photobucket is what a lot of us use
