  1. That's a bit hot really. Normal position. Cleaning the mill scale off makes a huge difference.
  2. I've lost count of the jobs I've had to put up with that mate. It's amazing how many fairies are in the trade!
  3. To hot mate. Got to back it off power and wire.
  4. There really is nothing to it ?
  5. Depends....if it's a light construction under little stress go down vertical. If its thick steel and strength is needed go up. Run a quick root then go from side to side weaving your way up. There is a knack to it and getting the set set right if you want it tidy. In fact even when doing vertical down you can set it so you come down but in a stop start motion which is stronger than coming down at a constant rate. The danger with vert down on thick steel is cold lapping or no penettratration. ?
  6. Well I managed a quick stroll after work. So where did everyone go....pigeon watch?
  7. I like a good smoke pole in the snow. And stuff shooting paper in the cold! That's time to get the groceries in!
  8. I'm out of date with it all mate. The last cast bullets I used were in a 30/30 and i used blue dot magnum shotgun powder. They were very accurate.
  9. Your issues are very similar issues one can get with spherical powders in rifle. They like a full case and initial pressure. Cast and plastic dont offer the initial resistance that a metal clad bullet does and so irregular pressure curves develope that the shooter can hardly detect! A magnum primer may help. Extruded, other than really slow ones is easier to light up. A2400 or reloader1. H322, H4227 ( if you can find some). Even blue dot should work used with caution.
  10. I no longer recommend seating bullets close to the lands. To much risk of a major stoppage. Seat them deep. Better initial ignition and well clear of the throat?
  11. There is a wife version I think. You'll know when you see it, it's a much wider contraption!
  12. Hope you get the fox stav. Cant you just sit in your truck and wait? I got out on rabbit duty again. Man that's a mean wind!
  13. Not a one you big kid. Or is it all those old asbos coming back to haunt you?
  14. Makes a change from some of the tits we get on here...... ?
  15. Well dont let them know otherwise the begging letters will start ariving through yer door!
  16. Nice thought ben. He'll be up the woods frozen to a tree he was peeing agen I bets
  17. Phill. You could have a sizer turned on a lathe. The dimensions are readily available on the net. You only need a drift to punch the spent cap out and some suitable steel tube to tap the case down on the new primer. Powder, wads and shot and a roll crimper.
  18. I use to use rws brass years ago. Lasted ages too.
