  1. Browning triggers went downhill around the nineties. Lawyers thought they could claim for injuries to numpties that cant use a rifle safely so most manufacturers at the time that covered American actually made something that looked like a trigger but it wasn't! Some if not most have got over that time. I have heard it said a browning shotgun trigger has a better feel than most of their rifles! The really old browning rifles are fine.
  2. I've worked at loads of places that are full of snakes! That's what the welding trade is like now☹
  3. Its not to bad as long as you stay away from Yorkshire ?
  4. Seen already. I'm subscribed to his channel. His latest one is a boar hunt with the same rifle. ?
  5. I doubt it mate. From here it looks nice but if I want a darker stain I use Indian rosewood colour.
  6. Other than a one rifle guy I'm struggling to justify the sub sonic magnum and usually hyper 22 suffers with accuracy but I guess these may stay super to 100yds but then again.....I dunno. Is it just the drive to get away from lead. Is 22 capable without lead? Its confusing me....
  7. Different mind set here buddy. Over here everyone is a criminal, they just haven't caught you yet!
  8. Lol, oh yes. New labour at the time estimated it would cost 9million. 90million when they were finished lol. It was profitable to buy loading gear and load ammo with sand, take it to the nick and repeat. HM government had to have made special machinery to safely chop all the ammo up and burn the powder off. All the sand kept putting the flame out ?, idiots. Some had basic engraving done quickly to get more back. The down side ofcourse was it promoted the deer proficiency stuff because all the pistol shooters bought stalking rifles and camo clothing with the tags still
  9. I got a few years in via a good friend. Use to shoot a couple of 357. A Smith and a Taurus. A 22 browning auto. I remember someone letting me shoot his 6" smith in 44mag with 3/4 full power loads. I was shooting 1" pebbles out the berm at 25yards. A feller was struggling to shoot his colt 45acp one day and offered me a magazine full. I printed a nice tight group with it and he wasn't to pleased! I didnt like it! Give me a revolver any day.
  10. Training my next chicken unit Charlie. The chicken supper is tied to a weight. It would be 2am wouldnt it ?
  11. My russian Tula is extra full and full but I can shoot that very well. There are many more factors more important than chokes in my opinion to shooting shotguns. Excellent shooting by the way....I was at work....?
  12. Carrying a side arm for me. I would be an avid pistol/ revolver hunter if we could in the uk. I remember just how accurate they can be and.......oh it dont matter, ain't gonna happen. Stupid country.
  13. I have both in cz457. No regrets. Triggers are brilliant.
  14. Use to get an old boy the occasional hare. He particularly liked the blue hare from when I use to go scotland.
  15. I used a tradition lamp to get this fox. It was a bit of a fiasco. At near 150yds I shot as the fox looked at me only it appears it was looking back at me along and over it's back so my bullet ran up its pooper! That's a big ask for a 20gn bullet and a second round sealed the deal as quick as I could! The first shot didnt vent the lungs. Had I realised I would of waited for a better shot. Went on to hear two others barking but never saw them.
  16. You have some fantastic country to walk over?
  17. Sorry Ben. Awful news mate. Lovely photo. Sorry. N.
  18. Me too. I thought the knot on a pine board would be good to aim at with my new air rifle as a 14 year old kid. I watched through the scope the pellet rapidly returning to me and only just ducked down in time for it to miss my face! I also was looking to load a muzzleloader with a very small charge for squirrels. 15gn resulted in a ball returning from the scotch pine stump! So I went to 20gn, they stuck in it!
  19. Nice to see out and about again. Good shooting sir.
  20. This is the only contessa I know because my mrs would torture me with it constantly being on the fools lantern! So that one is out!
  21. Brilliant. Timed it perfectly. Got to admire them?
