  1. Two lambs last week on my friends place but that's because some ewes got to the tups one night early on.
  2. Bullseye is fast for a carbine or rifle and low case volume. It can cause flyers.
  3. Don't you use a whip and pressure switch then?
  4. I used a bipod for a couple of years then got a simple tripod. Much better. The bipod allows forward and rear movement. I had a love/hate relationship with my bipod. It's now a try pod by adding a piece of carbone fishing pole!
  5. Bogpod! What you been typing in your search engine again Ben?
  6. Ever tried greendot or herco? That's not bad shooting. Are the flyers you or the trigger?
  7. The one I called in last night was by hand. Always do it that way. Well, maybe on a windy night I'll use them rubberband type mouth callers. One of my old favourites was a mirror and polystyrene!
  8. Right. I'm moving the baiting point to a new site. I've made a good place to stand. Prevailing wind in my favour and, when there is a full moon I may not need a lamp or anything but I will be in the shade ?. Might even put a seat there.
  9. Rifle just checked out. 1" pebbles at 125yds. No problem.
  10. The swine, or another turned up an hour later after I left.
  11. Very valid points. I did wonder. In fact I have had some with little expansion also! It was the worst position for an hmr. Its left shoulder closest to me! I need to return sand have another look but now its raining ?.
  12. Not tried any other than borrow a 007. To much fiddle. It dosnt matter. I can't get them all. I'll check the rifle later. Rethink the baiting area.
  13. Thanks. I'm going to go white again just to see. I was looking about last night and thought what with all the cars, security lights, distant light sources etcetera, maybe they won't think nothing of it. And yes, I even contemplated NV again but that was because I was tired and upset.
  14. Done many of this type of trigger. Its not the design that makes them heavy. It's how the sears are cut. They are made so they act like hooks. Made that way for litigation. Carefully stone the sears flatter and the weight drops. May take several attempts. Don't do what fools do, get lighter springs!
  15. Well I've just totally ball's it up royally! I got to the baited field, took my yellow lamp and there is my fox. Can't get a shot off the sticks due to a hedge not being low enough. Check fox again. It's come closer! Get rifle on top of fresh cut hedge red lamp on fox runs off. I think I just taught it yellow and red are the same bad news! Feed the site with chicken and go for a walk. Gets to far boundary and squeals. Within three good squeals Charlie turns up. A little over 100yds I shoot, nothing, no thump no fox no nothing! I searched for 45mins, nothing. So I put some
  16. Oh I don't know Dave. It's got to be getting on for 8lb.
  17. My daughter sounds like she is getting better now also ?
  18. Well I looked after my family this morning which involved a good walk however a local shoot was banging away in the distance. Then a mate sent me a photo of his lad with a duck. That was it, by the time we got home I was drooling! Besides, holiday over soon and it's my turn to get a positive test any minute! I already had a gun ready and the possibles bag ready first thing. It was topsy-turvy muzzleloader time this time. First shot I got was a woodcock but I rushed the shot and missed. I reloaded and had to walk for two hours before Jesse's nose pointed her to some thick weeds and sure en
  19. Think they have a separate pin and a transfer bar or interrupter bar to prevent accidental discharge IIRC.
  20. Daughter has it, again! Hit her bad this time. It's gonna get me soon I just know it.
  21. Always liked the H&R rifles. Hardly any over here. Nice find.
  22. I've got a couple of boxes of them. They seem a touch slower to me and definitely a tougher bullet. I agree, not a bad thing.
