I've just come in and I did not have enough layers on and I forgot my gloves ? Fancy going out later but I WILL be wrapping up much better pj's included. This cold snap might bring Charlie to the call.

Non yet but its the first thing I could smell in the air when I let the dog out this morning. Doubt I'll be lamping tonight.

Bloody'ell, you want to see me cussing as I spill powder, drop wads and spill shot. Get the barrels caught in the net and picking me nose? I don't think I can pull that one off mate.

.....powder this morning! Double gunning on the crows. One a blackpowder muzzleloader and one a white powder breechloader ( over a century ago some called new nitro powders white powder). 95 birds down three of which were woodies and must not forget the squirrel behind me at 2yds! All shot from 7am to 11am. The bulk were the first two hours, it was frantic and loading the muzzleloader was frantic too and often abandoned for the breechloader until there was a break. The muzzleloader was as black as a crows arse! Good times.

Anyone ratting. Been visiting this small farm with late harvested maize going right up to the old buildings. Shot eight fat juicy ones last night with the muff power 12g. I settled on 19gn of green dot, hard card, two 1/2" fibre wads and another hard card and 3/4oz (19gm) of #7 shot. Very quiet and the structural damage ain't to bad!

There was an unknown period when their numbers plummeted. Possibly 20 years ago but they have made a huge return. Guberment out of date again, situation normal!

Farm up the road, covered in them. Starling poop everywhere. Crop scarers in the farm yard, no effect. Kites, useless. Falcon noises and loud speaker, no effect. Are they still protected from shooting?

Now then! A while ago SL offered two magazines to a good home. I said yes because my friendly dealer had a cz auto missing a magazine. My friend just wanted the one magazine which left me with a 16 shot magazine! If you would like it check the photos and give me an address etc. notice the lips might need gently bending a fraction.

I've been enjoying the cz 455 I just got in 17hmr. I also acquired some of the ammunition from that notorious time when the cases were splitting! Ever likely folk were put off, me included! Let's just say I have quite a bit of summer squirrel ammo for next year! Some of it is good though and as ever Hornady is no different in performance whether it be recent production or decades old, thankfully. The cci 20gn fully jacketed is a surprise! It's bloomin quick for 20gns and does just fine on small game with less mess. It's a nice light rifle to carry. Can't wait to get
