  1. Anyone got and unwanted 308 bullets? Any shape or weight.
  2. Thought I would up my small game load in my 30wcf today from 14.5gns of A2400 to 15gn. Glad I did. Shoots a little tighter. I shot three at concrete with a stone set in it smaller than a rabbits head at 50yds. First shot hit it and the next two landed on that splash. The previous load I felt was a touch erratic and it showed on similar targets as in more flyers. Next I went to a ploughed field in a valley and plinked to 400 yards. 400 was pushing it but 200 & 300 was straight forward enough. No rabbit wants to be giving me rude gestures put it that way!
  3. Good acorn year this year here. Your oak wood, is it full of acorns? That will draw the pheasants.....and fallow (?).
  4. If you think that is fallow antler I recommend Boots optometrist. Might help with the reading also!
  5. In the old days the beating line was stopped to allow re loading. It was probably a much more relaxed pace. Each bird savoured!
  6. I did a beaters day with an auto once but I was the keepers best foxer and he used one exclusively also. I also used a Winchester pump years ago on a beaters day on one place. Nobody said nuffin because the shoots son used one on account he had a bad neck or something. To be honest though, all the game shoots I've shot on, not many, the most fun was when using a muzzleloader.
  7. Easy pickings for dogs, they get stuck in the hedge when run
  8. I thought I better get up this morning and go look for a rogue fallow buck! Nope, none, no slots, no rubs and no poop.
  9. Moon never stopped me. Last two last week, in da moon.
  10. I think you need to read up a little. As Roe Deer antlers develop they are covered in a grey furry skin known as velvet. Under the velvet there are blood vessels and nerves that feed the antler during is development. On occasions Roe Bucks damage the velvet whilst the antlers are developing which may cause abnormal non-typical antlers to form. By April Roe Deer antlers are usually fully developed, although in older animals this could be as early as March. As the hours of daylight increases it causes Roe Bucks to have an increase in testosterone which stops the blood supply to the v
  11. How do you know how big the sapling is? Do you think I was born yesterday?
  12. No it's not. There are no fallow there and it is just the right height for a roe buck and also at least two months old.
  13. Tried them once. Won't bother again. 42gn is a useless sales gimmick to appeal to the notion more is better.
  14. Nice head. Just a shame your a bit full of yourself about it but I'm still happy for you. Being of limited income I forsake traveling to just shoot deer many years ago and decided to wait patiently for them to come to me. I now have six roe and recently found fresh sign of my buck. We have fallow very close to and munties so I am ever hopeful.
  15. Never worked on one of those triggers but would like a shot at it.
  16. Did you find the brass. The end off the video if I made it would be my ass in the air looking for brass ?. That trigger would have to be lighter for me buddy! Can you add resistance to the swivel of the tripod? Might help!
  17. Why is that then. I don't understand this nonsense.
  18. I used my 308 extensively except for bear. I used the 110v-max also. It made the 308 as flat as a 243 100gn with a 10gn heavier bullet over 200yds (relatively). I was getting 3160fps from a 20" barrel.
