  6. She carries it a little way, in any direction, head up all proud then holds it on the ground and waits for me to come and get it. She dosent kill them but holds tight til told to "leave".
  7. Got a couple of BSA Super 10's. Both .22 one standard and one carbine
  8. OK, Tyla has started to kill rabbits which is great but how to make her retrieve? i have tried lots of things ever since she was a pup, but no joy. i used to train gundogs so i thought this would be the easy part She used to do it to a degree but since aquiring her prey drive she seems to have forgotten it. i have no doubt its my fault as i have been so focused on other parts of her training i have let it slide. She is also very easily discouraged and so i didnt want her associating rabbits with getting confused and spazzing out She is desperate to please but a bit neurotic so if s

  12. How did your one turn out? Got any pics?
  13. Just like Parker, we must have the same thing in the water down here! Have you got any pics of yours or heard anything about the other pups? i think he is going to be a seriously good dog, this litter might have been a good mistake to have made
  14. lol, no ones believes you Ames! its true though, no idea how he got that size though
  15. well said mate and when people do put post on about ther dog's hunting thay dont get many people commenting on them alot of people seem to stick in ther own little circle's Have to agree with that one, i have really enjoyed this site but its cliquey as f*ck and more posts slating other people's doings than describing their own! its totally beyond me how people find it so easy to judge people and dogs that they have never even seen i post a genuine story about bringing on my bitch and few people post (luckily im nor doing it for the attention ) but people are falling over themse
  16. i think weejohn and kreet had other pups out of this litter. How about getting pics up of the whole lot? He really is a cracking dog though, him and Tyla get on like a house on fire. Cant wait to get them working together, should make a good bushing team
  17. Any luck with those pots yet Hob and Jill? No joy here again
  18. Nice one mate! Mine took her first recently, cant beat that feeling when all the hard work pays off!
  19. Hes coming on great, a proper little hooligan. He has a serious prey drive already and has been out to watch on the lamp and ferreting although he dosent have the patience for that yet. He also got nailed by one of the ferrets, which made him squeal. Hes very obedient too. Shape wise he sounds like yours, solid, chunky whippet with a good head. Amy has recent pics on her camera and i will get her to put them up later. Do you know how the others, that kreet and weejohn took, turned out? i reckon he will be a cracking little bushing and lamping dog.
  20. Good looking puppy, hope everything goes well for you both
  21. A cracking dog, hope mine turns out so well. A credit to you mate
  22. Thanks Saluki, she is an absolute diamond, couldnt be happier! All i need to do now is work on her retreive Dantheman - When i got her i was told the dam was saluki x grey and the sire lab/staff x grey but the parents were rescue pets so no way of knowing really. She seems to be up for the job though and thats what counts!
  23. The weather was so perfect last night i just had to go out, even though i had to be up 05.15 this morning ... again! We got there about 9.30 and had the usual decision about whether to park where we always get hassle off the neighbourhood watch or where we have to walk miles to get the wind in the right direction. Went for the long walk low hassle option though why they are so obsessed with vans is beyond me, especially as they know i have permission. it was good gusty wind with no rain and a nice dark sky. Had a good run and miss in the first field then started the hike all the wa
