    Ok I have personally seen bull xs take numerous quarry single handed in a night were a coursing bred wouldn't take one ? I have seen a few minshaws or collie xs take numbers or gear on ground your coursing breds couldn't or wouldn't face the task not saying all couldn't but most wouldn't but you are kennel blind mc

    I will go one one better you having slop trotters that you think can do what a decent bull x does or do regular its when there put on stuff that bites back or big gear that doesn't want to be pulled backed you find there lacking but horses for courses but I will say I think lines like minshaw or heavy collie influenced mutts beat your slop trotters on most ground and quarry and numbers ?

    The best round the family dogs I owned were bull xs even though I never trust any dog were kids are theses had the best temps round kids I found them very protective and loving .a lot depends on how theses American bull dogs types are bred and brought up and what manners and temp the parents have .I can't believe how some buy on a wim knowing nothing about its history they have but I have zero tolerance were kids are involved regarding aggression no matter how good the dog is

    I get what your saying but what does summer running prove ? What's the difference in taking your pups out in Oct the hares aren't at there strongest and your pups can still use there nose

    Sorry hull your in the wrong here what are you expecting running in summer what that can't be run in say Oct or Nov when the ground is softer if pups are going to make it they will it's as you say it's either in them or not but summer running will tell you nothing on any quarry when winter comes that's when you really find out as you know

    My mate got his cheek bone broke of a sika one night when it kicked out .l carried a dog of after a encounter with a red hind a experienced dog at that he took bigger reds than this hind was but she buckled him proper theses things happen and a lot depends on a lot of factors ground numbers and of course the dogs and if there up to it when it gets tough

    As said some decent digging round there to be had less pressure than Cheshire but it can be tricky and dangerous for a mutt given much of the ground ? there does seem to be a good few red brock there to from I have heard and plenty of venison from I have seen

    I tried to advise a young lad near me about being seen round a certain area in day light hours with a banjo and his terrier .he's keen I will say that and it's a decent dog from what I'm told but hes another Facebooker who had pics up that shouldn't of been on talk about making there job easy . if he does get tugged I don't think he realises what shit storm comes with it but I do hope he stays lucky and starts using his head a bit more

    Owned this cross in the late 80s a decent dog on edible day or night very much single handed would retrieve live to hand mark anything but was dog aggressive so gave him to a lad who run him single handed and he took some numbers and his main quarry was venison
