  1. nice one tomo?. it deserves to live for another day.
  2. my father who despised thatcher and the tories always said Blair was a diluted tory.
  3. You turncoat how could you turn your back on Labour, lol. I agree with everything you have said and it's the reason I voted tory for the first time. from generations of coalminers and lifelong Labour voters I had to change there was no other choice out there.
  4. Lincolnshire was a great place in the 80's was some good numbers, not on a par with what they were doing. but it was good. been recently and it's no where near what it was.
  5. it was good then some good write ups. just hearing some of the at stud names brings back memories. will hay, Carl Williams bow. George Kelly, ginger French, names from the past who advertised in there. it was a great time to be a young chap into dogs, ferrets and many more things ?
  6. first I heard of a minshaw I was working at the pit and one of the pigeon men showed me a clip in a pigeon racing paper. pretty sure it was minshaw and blue issuing a challenge saw it later in shooting news. this would be about 84 or 85.
  7. I can remember will hay at stud?

keep hold of it you never know ?. I have never used the Irish linen nets but have heard of them. Mr Wilkes may know something about them and I am sure netrigger will have knowledge of them he's the man to go to about different twins.

I don't want to stop altogether but I can't see numbers coming back. if I can have a drop and get half a dozen I am well happy.
  10. there is a fellow on YouTube with a few posts. ferreting with my dog Billy. it's three quarter whippet /greyhound and a quarter Bedlington, looks a decent size and a good dog. if I was wanting to lamp and other stuff it's the way I would look to be going.

birthday today and no usual offers of night clubs and women due to lock down (obviously). I spent it relining an old net. it bought back memories of nights past and decent numbers last time this net was used around 92.i thought today enthusiasm of youth then thought you fxxxcking old codger is it really worth bothering with.
  12. is this Victor chappy still with us?
  13. that gets you in the club my friend ?
  14. I asked as I wondered if it hadn't met your expectations. at the moment and for a lot of years I have kept only 1 dog. it is required to mark holes for ferreting, work cover nettles, scramble through brambles, catch bolters, put rabbits out of hedgerows then get out and catch them, plus odd pheasant squirrel etc. a terrier would probably do 1 bit better and a whippet would be faster at the other but that would mean 2 dogs.
  15. Good luck with it ?. look a good sort ages since I have seen a nice Russell. never been involved in terrier work but used to ferret with Russell's years ago cracking little dogs.
  16. perfection doesn't exist my friend in dogs or in life ?
  17. you must be a young chap or you was even more pissed than the rest of us through the 80's.
  18. derbyshire. spent a lot of time in Lincolnshire in what my generation call the good times. that's when I used to lamp, now just ferreting and occasional longnetting if numbers are there.
  19. I was in Lincolnshire a few days ago and she put a munty out of cover, only the 2nd one she has encountered we don't have any here.
  20. sounds very much like mine. I have found all have had a great nose but the first cross is even better in that respect.
