Can’t see where this is 200 quid a meter, now I know it’s all random lengths and you just lay Yorkshire stone in random lines but at keepdiggin said it just looks like Indian sandstone and I can get that in about 12 different sizes for a quarter of the price and would of looked similar when down
  2. I can’t cope with these people, turned up this morning and more Yorkshire stone had arrived, when I asked why that was here I was told “ we’ve changed the layout and ordered more “ so now we are 48 square meters, 10 grands worth of paving, they haven’t taken into account more sand, cement and most importantly to me time
  3. Labouring for my mate today building a well, 1800 bricks to cut, my back feels like it’s going to break The Yorkshire stone arrived for next week, this will be the most expensive patio I’ve ever put down, £200 a square meter, some people have more money than sense
  4. Back on the tools today, apparently my mate can’t get staff and what he has got won’t work a bank holiday, so I’ve got to get my hands dirty
  5. Pouring down today so where better to be than in the kitchen roast beef, cream mash, garlic and thyme roast spuds, sage yorkie puds, carrots and turnip mash and homemade gravy
  6. Only the ones that are good at it, when you just make it up as you go along like me, you have to work all day because you don’t know if you’re going to get found out and it’s your last job ( lol )
  7. Busy one today, still bashing plaster off, blocked up a doorway and put a fence up, it’s fast approaching beer o’clock
  8. Dug out the foundation this morning, started mixing concrete, lad who was working with me said he had to pop out, well, never seen him again, had to put the thing in on my own, Tw*t
  9. Couple of these to finish off a relaxing Sunday

  11. This is how I like to spend my Sunday, in the kitchen for a couple of hours, nice roast dinner and feet up for the afternoon
  12. Roast beef today, gravy is coming along nicely
  13. Sea bass ratatouille for me sea bass with new potatoes and leek for her loving sea bass at the minute
  14. That quiche looks delicious
  15. All down, floor out and bricks cleaned and stacked, start digging foundations on Monday
  16. Pan fried sea bass with asparagus and new potatoes cooked in white wine and cream, very nice, I need to work on my presentation
  17. Taking it down, brick by brick and cleaning as we go, I’m sure I was just meant to knock it down and put new foundations in
  18. Do you mean the bricks, they do look like it but we are a long way from where they are made
  19. Starting to take down a big old brick garage today, the only thing holding it together is the ivy all over the roof
  20. Meant to be visible again tonight
  21. I was out on a sheep farm in Richmond North Yorkshire after foxes, didn’t see a fox but it didn’t matter when this was my view, even had a few shooting stars as well
