    On the 008 he showed me today the lrf worked constantly as you moved it around, I don’t know if this is the norm with nv, or if you have to activate it on others, I take your point on the calibre I could save myself a couple of hundred quid without the lrf

    Yeah he’s just down the road from me, it might be worth me going to see him, I won’t be treating myself until the new year so plenty of time to find out about these things and make the right decision

    Yeah it is, they will be doing the pulsar hard sell, I just want to see how some of the others work at night and if they are easy enough for someone as simple as me to use

    Arrr, I didn’t know that, I’m new to all this technology, I shoot a fair few over 200 yards so don’t want to be short on mag, I already have a PBIRL, I did like the 008 but will be going to the NV evening next week to see what others have to offer

    As I’ve mentioned before I’ve been thinking about another rifle as a dedicated fox rifle, I’ve been in the shop today and on the rifle side it’s looking like another tikka in .22-250 as for the scope I’m definitely going digital, I’ve had a look at the new ATN and the new pulsar but to be honest they were a bit to complicated for me, the lad then showed me the pard 008 lrf and although a weird looking thing it was easy to use and the image quality was superb, the only thing that bothered me was has it got enough magnification for night time fox work, I’d be interested to know what others are u

    Another trip up to the shoot for a bit more hand feeding before we shoot on Saturday, the birds were well tucked up in the cover, it was a proper winters day, everything white and crisp, the cock birds are looking in fantastic condition and if we have weather on Saturday like today we could be in for a cracker ?

    As requested BenBhoy a festive wreath of squizzers ( some might say I have to much time on my hands or I’m just not right ) I managed another 7 today while out on the quad, I’ve definitely made a big dent in them around the farm, only seen 3 in the yard today ??

    I fall under Durham because I’m the wrong side of the Tees, they still do it the old fashioned way here, they normally have it back to you within 48 hours so can’t complain, luckily I’m the biggest kid in our house so I get to buy myself new toys for Christmas, I did buy my little beating mate Hugo his first proper pair of wellies though, you have to look after the next generation of shooters ?

    I haven’t put in for the variation yet but at the minute I keep going back to the 22-250 but we will see, I know the lad in the shop and he has a way of convincing me to buy something I have no need for, he was trying to sell me a 30-06 a few weeks back that someone had put in for a .308, it was mint apparently and would look nice in my cabinet ? and he was showing me a lovely 6.5 creedmoor, again a rifle I have no use for at the minute 6.5x55 is a very nice rifle, bit more punch than the.243, ideal for the fallow

    So me and the long one decided to go for a wander out for an hour or so with the .17’s when we arrived at our destination longshanx mentioned that someone was after a couple of hares so as we were in the right place for them I said we will see what we can do, with very few rabbits about we headed to the top of the fields, three hares sat in the middle of the field, so he took the first one at about 65 yards, with the other 2 making a break for it we headed along the bottom of the fields back towards the motor, we spotted the next one a good way off but with the direction of the wind it knew w
