  1. I live 10 mins down the road from where he has set this up, good look to him, the kids and smack heads on the Middlesbrough estates are feral, Francis jones set up Sparta security in Darlington years ago and although they do a good job protecting sites I doubt that the number of houses and cars getting robbed has changed at all
  2. I thought I’d ask for a little bit of advice, I’m in the market for a new .243, I think I’ve made my mind up on the rifle ( browning x bolt ) I’ve got the Schmidt and Bender scope but the sound mod I’ve got no idea, the last one was a wildcat and although this did the job very well it looked like a Pringles can, a lad in the gun shop recommended an A-Tec but he could of just been trying to sell me what he had, I’ve been looking at the Ase Utra Jet-z the thing that puts me off is the price and is it any better than the wildcat, thanks in advance, stav
  3. For the money it’s worth a punt, as a knock about gun you don’t mind if it doesn’t cycle now and then, the one I’ve got 99 time out of 100 will cycle 36g or heavier, it jams about 1 in 4 with 30g, it’s ok for bashing crows and it works well with geese loads, it’s certainly no benelli but what do you expect for a couple hundred quid
  4. I might of been a bit harsh on the hatsan, my mate has an old escort and it shoots anything, I gave him some old paper cartridges and it fired them no bother, I must of just got a Friday afternoon gun when the little Turkish fella wanted to get home to his kebab, saying that it’s the only gun I use if we are flushing fox on the pheasant shoot it loves a 45g mini mag or a big old 50g
  5. I think I’d cry like a little girl if I bashed my 525 ?
  6. I’ve used a browning maxus and loved it, I’ve always been a bit of a beggar for a plastic gun, I’ve never been one for sitting and polishing my wood ?
  7. No, with it been a gas cycle you would think changing the seal would help, sadly this is not the case with this Poundland shotgun, I’ll just put it down to experience and if I want another semi I’ll go for the Browning
  8. That mask is stunning, I’ve never seen many that don’t look like they are about to take your hand off
  9. Ha ha, if you go down to the woods today be sure of a big surprise, good job he’s got that jacket on, he could catch his death if he was under dressed
  10. It will not cycle light cartridges, it will cycle 36g all day long, but seen as it is predominantly a pigeon gun this is no good to man nor beast, nobody wants to eat a pillow cased pigeon
  11. I lad, I’m also from up t north, I’ve got another gun to add to this but from the other end of the scale ( most hated gun ) Hatsan escort semi auto, only good for knocking fence posts in, if anyone make a worse gun than this I’m yet to see it
  12. Favourite rifle is my marmite rifle, love it or hate it, it’s my Browning.17 HMR t bolt, shortened, synthetic stock with mag holder, full left hand with MTC viper scope ( a cheapie but a goodie ) my mate won’t even pick this up as he thinks it’s a pointless round, but for me it’s perfect for 120 + yard rabbits on a night due to how flat it flys, no need to worry about bullet drop just put it in the cross hairs and squeeze the bang switch, favourite shotgun is my Browning B525 30” the pigeons should feel privileged to be shot at by this little bit of posh
  13. I have just been given a nightmaster adjustable mount and I must say I’m very impressed with the quality of it, I’m not sure if it’s going to get any use as I’ve never mounted ad ons to my rifles due to the weight difference, I’ve been out with people who look like something from terminator but I can’t get away with it, a lamp, mate and a rifle does me, I’d be interested to know some other peoples thoughts on this because I seem to be the odd one out with my shooting buddies
  14. I’m sure it’s a few of them unwritten thoughts that make the police think it’s not worth the risk giving him them back, it’s a sad situation all round, but life is only what you make it, no one can force you into these situations the signs were their before it went to far ( pregnant within the first week moved in within a month, game over ) ?
  15. When they turned out to be mental, which they inevitably always seemed to be he would bin them off, sadly there’s a little lad involved this time, he would be better off on his own, I’m sure he is fitted with a mong magnet
  16. It’s a shame as he’s a cracking lad but has fallen foul of the fairer sex, he would come across very well in front of a judge but all I could think of is in the unlikely event of him getting them back while he is still with her she would constantly use it against him to get her own way, he maybe better off waiting until after this relationship has run it’s course or buy my fishing gear
  17. This is the reason he won’t get them back, firearms licensing will only go off your police/medical history, you can send as many character references and letters from farmers telling them what a stand up guy you are as you want, this means nothing to them, they could of been sent by anyone also most people you shoot for only know you in that capacity and have know idea what goes on behind closed doors, I would of thought he’s wasting his time going to court as I could never see a judge overruling a FAO or chief inspector
  18. I know a farmer that did the same thing with his SGC when the mrs went off the rails, it was voluntary but after she rang the police the FAO recommended that they should stay there for a bit, it was over a year before he had them back at the farm, oh, and he’s still with her, some people just love a bit of drama in their lives
  19. BASC have sent it to a solicitor to see if they will take it on, they are waiting to hear from them, if they say there is a 51% or greater chance of winning the will got court for him
  20. Luckily I don’t have anything to do with her it’s a sad state of affairs when someone will use something like that against you when they know the consequences of their actions
  21. Yes, your eyes are not play tricks on you ?
  22. I feel a bit sorry for him everything was going swimmingly after he got them back the first time, a couple of extra rifles on the FAC and as much land as he could shoot, then he had the misfortune of meeting his mrs, she moved in, baby soon followed, I think it’s become a sport for her to make his life miserable, on the other hand I’ve got loads more land to shoot now, so every cloud
  23. That’s how I see it, the first time he deserved to have them taken off him for the assault but the second time was just two drunk idiots arguing over nothing and his mrs phoned the police and told them he was threatening her, something that she later retracted and no further action was taken
  24. That’s what BASC said, he is desperate for them back so he doesn’t have to rely on others, but the first time was for assault and the second domestic, I can’t see anyone putting there name to that grant of a SGC / FAC
