  1. I'm usually on the northwest corner.Along an area known as the emerald coast.Only landed those two.I hooked into a monster tiger shark. He was too big for my fishing setup really. He eventually broke off on a reef as he could swim wherever he wanted with me attached lol. When I kayaked the next bait out I was nervous as I think he was big enough to eat my 12 ft kayak lol.The big one always gets away. This time I think I was glad it did.
  2. The scaffolds survived their maiden voyage of 600 miles to a favorite fishing spot of mine.Everything was well organized and we could change locations at the drop of a hat.I was very happy but it did get some strange looks lol.
  3. My wife brushes her teeth with it with toothpaste to help whiten teeth. So have I.Ive used it to get rid of a lie bump on my tongue.Ive had several dogs to eat a large hunting sock over the years. The vets years ago told me to use peroxide. Its always worked without a problem. If you don't feel comfortable with that I think active charcoal would be next best.
  4. 1 or 2 cc of peroxide down the goozle will induce vomiting in seconds.
  5. I got a new truck.I wanted a way to transport my shark fishing gear to florida and be able to get a few hours sleep in the back.I looked at a bunch of different options.Nothing fit my need so I decided to Redneck Engineer something.I bought a set of scaffolds. Me and my buddy built some bed pads from layers of foam and bubble wrap for HVAC. We loaded the truck yesterday for Florida. Its ugly as hell but I think it will work. Cargo carrier for coolers and bait bags which are proned to leak blood. Rods strapped up. The bed of the truck will be where I sleep.M
  6. Otters vision is designed for seeing underwater not above. Its their only weakness in my opinion. If you don't move they generally can't see you more than 10 ft away. To give me an advantage I always wear neutral colors that match our tree leaves depending on time of year. This was what I was wearing today. No flashy colors.
  7. Walked in a small creek in town today.I seen bubbles.I knew it was a yearling otter.I sat and watched him hunt. I didn't move as otter can't see good.He made his way right to my feet.He was spinning in circles to catch his prey.It was strangely similar to a tactic that I've seen dolphins use. Finally he spotted me and was gone.
  8. Leaves of three let it be.
  9. Its poison ivy mack. The antihistamine will help. Calamine lotion will help.clorox can dry it up but doesn't feel good.
  10. In Alabama that's called tater patties.Good eating
  11. I've experimented with several baits now.Big creek chubs like the corn.I made a punch bait from cotton balls and tinned dog food.It caught alot but would wash away quickly in these small creeks.I wasn't satisfied and I wasn't catching any new types.I remembered a bass bait that I never liked because little fish attacked it.I stopped by the bait store and got a pack. I tore off a tiny piece, put it on the hook.i added some cotton fibers to the tip to add some life to it. I caught chub, shiners, bream and a largemouth.I caught a new type of shiner.Whitetail shiner.
  12. I agree about catfish.Ive watched a catfish crawl out of a dead cows ass on the river bank lol. Are signal crays always yalls otters main food source or is it just this time of year?
  13. The biologist said it's a shiner but unidentifiable from picture. He guessed that it was a mimic shiner.
  14. Thanks Mr Paulus. That's what I needed to know.
  15. I'm guessing it's some type of shiner that has a parasite.I like the name tiddler snatching I have just sent the picture to a biologist.Hopefully there will be a new discovered species.Rickshaw swami shiner lol. I do have some questions about the corn. What do yall prefer,?canned, frozen or fresh.i have been thinking. The sweetest corn is peaches and cream grown locally.Would this be a wise choice or does it not matter?
  16. Recently I started tiny fishing. There are hundreds of species of fish in Alabama. Most are small and not much are known about them.I figured if I could learn more about the small fish it would help me understand predators better such as smallmouth and otter.I bought a 10 ft telescoping pole.I tie about 3 ft of 2 lb tippet fly line to a number 20 nymph fly hook. So far I have caught mosquitofish. Black sided topminnow Several shiners Creek chub And one fish that I don't know what it is lol. I have used small worms and pieces of cricket most
  17. 20 years ago I married my childhood sweetheart. We spent the day together at my father's river camp.It was peaceful. Spent most of the day watching ospreys hunt. And catching tiny bream. As we sat down to lunch in the camper I began to laugh as this camper had more square footage than our first house. We started our marriage in a 2 bedroom house trailer and bought an acre of land.My wife had to bottle raise a litter of pups right after our honeymoon lol.She took them to work with her in a shoebox.I remember loading a bulldog in my pickup headed to the moun
  18. I hope not to bore yall but I returned to the fish trap as I felt a real connection with the place.I never camp in the same place twice but I made an exception for this place. When I arrived the water was muddy and catfish had moved in. Supper was a sirloin cut in chunks.Soaked in Moores spicy marinade.Few peppers and mushrooms. This was the best tasting meal I've ever cooked on a creek bank. I listened to a good coonhound race just before falling asleep. I woke up at 430.Started the fire for coffee when I heard squawking at the edge of my camp then chirps and
