  1. Any body use a stick of some sort to rest the gun while shooting when standing? I am taking a stick with a V shape to rest the gun in or a smaller length of stick to use while sitting, not bipods.
  2. Have you got beddies now or had them in the past moocher? If so let’s have some pics.
  3. My point was borders and Lakeland’s were used by George because he couldn’t get the right type of bedlington not that borders were superior,I’ve had a border cross but only 1/16 and the border blood could still been seen in coat colour ,I’ve seen some nice border crosses but I don’t like the 1/2 or 3/4 I think you need more bedlington blood,I heard George said it was a mistake but don’t know how true it is,I could see why he would say it as Lakeland x bedlingtons looked really nice at 3/4 beddie 1/4 Lakeland.
  4. Here you go tank, top pic tyke 1/16 border ,2nd pic tyke digging rabbits for a big dog it was amazing we’re he could get,3rd pic tyke with his dam,ive put this pic on so you can see the difference in coat between a KC bedlington and one with 1/16 border, forth pic holy my first bedlington she was 7 in pic,I kept one of the pups and with cash left I had her eye cataracts removed which ended up with holy having to be put down as the vet made such a bollocks of it( Rickets vet Huddersfield) what a c**t.
  5. Cheers mark,it’s hard to believe pellets could make that much difference, even at 25 shots it was bang on.
  6. Cheers jimmy I will try some?
  7. Got some jsb exact diabolo today and I can’t believe the difference,it only took 10 shots to set the sights up,in pic all 10 pellets in 5p circle at 25 yards with a bench to rest on, with the air arms I would have got 1 or 2 in the circle but the rest would have been all over the place. Cheers for advice.
  8. If you go three pages back there’s a pic of my last bedlington 1/16 border, I will sort some others out.
  9. Not now but I did from around 1986 to 2000,I’ve seen a couple of pics of Morton’s but thought he may have a few more.
  10. If I were you Morton I would forget what others are doing and concentrate on your own dogs that way you will avoid a lot of the flack you receive because regardless what you say or do folks will do what they want with there own dogs, look what happened to George Newcombe he ended up falling out with a lot of folks which I don’t suppose did him any favours as he got older,so calm down and get some pics of your dogs on for us to have a look at,atb with your breeding program.
  11. I set the gun up yesterday at 28 yards length of garden after much fecking about in the end hitting 2 drawing pins, went out tonight first rabbit dead 25 yds 2nd 30 yard wounded rabbit as shot low in shoulder but dog got it,the next few shots were all low so I came home and re zeroed scope, now I am getting 2 shots almost in same hole at 20 yards then 2 about 1/12 below its fecking annoying.
  12. I would say the field are more accurate plus they fit the pellet thingy better lol I found the express a bit awkward fitting wise we’re as the field fit perfect, cheers.
  13. Looks like it’s had it’s head in a pencil sharpener,I’ve been to a Bedlington show at woodhorn I think it was late 1990s.
  14. Ive got a bsa ulta se multi shot 1.77, the lad I bought it from was using air arms diabolo express 4.5.2 for target shooting but I am using it to shoot rabbits so I swapped to air arms diabolo field 45.2 and by and large they are accurate but when shooting targets I keep getting the odd wild pellet which could be me ,I’ve also just ordered a pull through to give the barrel a clean just in case it’s never been done, so my question is can anyone recommend a good pellet out of these guns for rabbit shooting?
  15. Do you have to watch out for crocs in your area? Nice pics.
  16. Morton your problem of wanting a good beddie stud dog is not a new one! I had this problem in my late 20s and I am 54 next,it could be worse now as I wouldn’t have Granitor blood which is show blood in my bedlingtons.from what you have said in one of your replies to fed90 I think you missed out on the decent Rillington beddies and ended up with bits of this and that why you don’t rate Rillington blood as highly as I am sure you would have if your dogs had more Rillington blood.to breed decent working Bedlingtons today is not easy but I think you are going in the direction as the show stuff is

    Nice pup what’s his breeding?
  20. Another nice gesture jimmy ?
  21. The border terrier was used by George for the same reason he first used the Lakeland terrier because he couldn’t find suitable Bedlingtons to breed with his and he needed new blood but wasn’t prepared to use just any Bedlington,he didn’t need an outcross to make them better workers he needed new blood. Printer on this forum has some really nice border Bedlingtons.
  22. What a good idea, cheers.
