  1. I spent a morning rabbiting with a fellah that had a dog and a bitch Italian Greyhound, and although not serious rabbiting, we caught 7-8 if i remember...it was really fun, and the dogs where crazy agile....i wouldnt get one for serious hunting, but for what they where, they where very fun indeed.
  2. Glad yours are working out well mate...i honestly think mine was just the cull of the litter..its just one of them things...a real shame, as she was a beaut, and the exact size and shape that i like....she taught me a ton about canine behaviour...
  3. Yup, the jadg x bulls where from BH...He is a very honest guy, and he dosnt seem to mess around with his dogs...on paper the cross seemed good, just didnt gel right for what ever reason,... The first one was from Main, and she was a very backward kind of pup...very nervous, and timid acting,...couldnt take a correction...that bitch was HUNT CRAZY though,...very skilled nose...she was good on game, until it put a tooth in her, then she just threw the towel in,...a PERFECT size and stamp for what i want...this last one is from Main as well, but i own the sire...sadly the dog is massive,...he
  4. Just want to say, i dont put down early entering to these failures i had...the first one, i think she was just a cull, it happens in all litters...the two jadg x pits, i think the whole litter was culled in the end, blood just didnt gel, and the whole litter was wank....this fourth pup is a better prospect, just way to MASSIVE...
  5. I have a Fell x Bull at the moment, he has seen one coon, and was clearly too young still,...so far, ive had 4 of this cross, and the three i had before this one were all culled...strangly enough, could not take any pain at all, and where just culls...first was a fell x pit, the 2nd and 3rd where sisters and where jadg x pit, and this fourth one is half pit, and half fell,...we will see, but so far, my 'regular' digging dogs have way more grit, and drive, although i have seen very good animals of this cross.
  6. not that i know of mate...i would say most of the lads keep running dogs over here are hare coursers or coyote hunters...hare hunters use mostly saluki hybrids, yote guys use staghounds...as a rough HUNTING dog, or back home as a Lurcher cross, i think they would be very good indeed.
  7. For anyone interested in pastrol/herding/drover type dogs, google 'Hairy Mouth Heelers'...there from south east missouri, and they are HARD dogs...crazy tough, and would do well crossed into some dogs back home ive no doubt!
  8. Id say NO breed or type is fully grown (up and out) until around two years...mentally, sometimes takes longer.
  9. I agree whats said about Coons, although i have seen them bolt a bunch of times.
  10. ANY dog, of ANY breed can be made to quit, or jack...its a fine line between an elite performance, and throwing the towl in....a razors edge.
  11. When i first came over here, i saw all kinds of tools for handling game..."you cant live handle raccoons etc"...its a load of bull shit!..confidence is a massive part of handling any wild animal, from snakes, right up to coyotes...ive handled live coon, probably hundreds of times now...you get scratched, and now and then, you might get bitten...it is part and parcel of the game.
  12. Having trained and competed at a decent level, and trained athletes at very high levels, i will say that around 90% of pro sports people are using some form of PED,...
  13. SOrry to hear that mate!...im certainly not sad to have left the UK...ive recently shed some burdens, people who i thought where friends, but turns out it just took me a very long time to realise what they REALLY where...just selfish, name worshipping pricks messing at the game....got a good group about us now, and building on better, brighter futures for the dogs we have. All the very best for the future though mate.
  14. I take a few terriers with me on my AM run,...running dogs i dont tale out during the daylight hours in the heat, no point, to easy to loose a dog to heat over here...i'll just walk them up the lane now and then in the dark this time of year, couple miles tops....they will all get swam in the pond now and then as well... As for the start of the season, thats a whole other story,...im sure there ready for the summer months once we get going!..lol.
  15. Most dogs will catch rabbits...that dont make 'em rabbit dogs though...."theres dogs, and then theres DOGS!".....just like with terriers...2 digs a season dosnt mean its a digging dog.
  16. Looks to me that the pied brindle was breathing out his arse!...lack of wind from lack of excercise will make ANY dog a cur, and thats a fact...but yeah, i wouldnt want to keep that dog. i wouldnt of shot it either.
  17. I love the Bull types, but imo, a PROPER one does NOT make a great pet,..they are a great deal of work, and need certain things that other types dont need...when people say "its how you bring them up etc"...that IS true to some levell, but there is way more shite out there, that have been bred for non desirable traits such as man aggression and to 'look 'ard as f**k'....a REAL bull dog needs a proper owner, that is aware of what he has in his charge....and if it IS a real Bull, it will be one of the most physically gifted athletes ever created on the earth, with the mental attitude to match it
  18. imo, there no real dilema...make the breeding, any with defects, deal with it when it happens....also, if there being bred for work, dont worry about colour. Place the pups with close friends, and go from there.
  19. I would LOVE a chance to dig Otter...seen a few tracks in some creeks near me, but never seen one...got some terriers here that id love to see work one.
  20. My comments where based on what i like for earth work mate, nothing more.
  21. What i like, is when people talk about hard dogs, and theyve never seen one, and dont know what there looking at...ive been out with people, and they say "Little Bingo, hes smart as hell, he dont get hurt, hes a bayer"...you break through, and little Bingo is nervously baying away in fear that the coon will come to meet him, from 18" up the pipe...the owner shotts the coon, and that 'brave and smart' dog rushes in, guns blazing, shaking that still twitching coon around like hes a 45lbs bull dog.. if Bingos so f*****g smart, WHY does he rush in and take hold of a dead animal?...whats he doi
  22. Very nice mate, good deal...i got one very banged up terrier at the moment from a mid-twenty pound coon...he was with it just shy of 7hrs, and it was the deepest solo dig ive had in the states...i could barely move in the AM!..LOL...dogs gonna be out for a while, but hes a great little lad!...very well done to you mate.

    jail fight

I was in jail not to long ago, only five days, but two people hung themselves, one done himself from the next bunk over from me...woke up to the sound of him smashing his legs against the wall and shit and piss flying everywhere....certainly different....i lost 12lbs in five days, coz i have a gluten allergy, they fed me three apples, and a chicken breast every day....they dont f**k about over here!..lol
  24. I had a dog called Blister. He was 29" and 78lbs in his prime...he mopped up rabbits like they were nothing...it got boring lamping him on them...his first season in the south west, he killed 73 hares single handed, daytime...he was mustard...id have loved him back home in england...he just made rabbits look like they werent moving!...he would catch them at night, without a lamp....best night lamping with him was 17 hares, 2 gray fox, and a dozen or so rabbits...i think he missed two hares and that was it...miss the ole boy now.
  25. Ive only had two badgers over here in the states,...one dug, and one at night with the stags...i wasnt that impressed with either, but thats only two accounted for.
