What your recticle increments are in should dictate your turrets , if you can range in meters go with the same recticle and turrets , then if you want to get really out there go FFP very simple to gauge the follow on shot . But in saying all that with chair gun you can mix and match so it would depend in what the scope usage would be for .

John I like your tag sign the Winchester motif , See if you can tag along with somebody who can teach you field craft and what signs to look for and gauge rabbit activity on your ground . Get down on your ground and watch with binoculars the area's that your interested in and learn whats going on and area's of activity , don't get busted and let the rabbits know you watching .

What weight pellet do you use and is it a regulated rifle , I have fitted two Huma regs to my rifles and use heavy weight pellets and after finding what brand and size are tack drivers . With unreg pcp's the power curve is some times the fluctuation that causes the results on target . Try the other pellet size it's the cheapest option , but at the distance your shooting your getting a good group 1/2 " kill zone .

Is the m/c worth rebuilding the or getting parts or a diff from the states . I ordered a Detroit locker for a land cruiser from the states good value price wise and about a week . Were I used to work we very often bought parts from the states when the uk dealership we were part of couldn't supply parts .

Have you got the diff out and stripped to see whats damaged ,

For the Cromaty firth you need to be on the road from Ken's garage on the A9 at Kildary heading across to Arabela this is the Nigg roundabout to Nigg ferry road . Travel from Ken's down the road to Arabela over the little bridge till you come to the first house on the right about 2 mile , turn in on left of house you are now off road head on down track till you come to cross road turn left and go down to bottom . firth is over berm in front of you . If you walk out and the tide comes in it will travel over ground as fast as you can walk . I have been there on big tides and the tide is up to

Phil I have costed it to 0,17?p a cartridge for steel . If you take on the loading machine either the Lee @ £70 or the MEC at £250 and cost them over years of use would be the only way go . I load for centre fire and have had the gear for years so its just consumables , had no idea that cartridges were the price they are and I would think it is not going to change . Cheers

Many years ago possible 50 there was a shooting paper/magazine and Shooting times . In the paper there often was a advert for Fwb target air rifles the advert was you could easily shoot 200 rabbits with such a rifle and I thought it was a amazing piece of kit . I was shooting them with my American pump up a Beeman . You trapped it under your arm and pumped it till your arm's fell off , super powerful , if I remember correctly in .22 got it off a American servicemans son . great memories . ATB -
I'm sure it's been done to death , Is there any sense in reloading 12 bore cartridges with steel or lead for pigeon shooting , I cant see how the ordinary person could afford two three days a week if your buying them . Cheers

If you need to be discreet the .22lr , I have a 22.250 that is legal for roe in Scotland and a serious target round out to 500 yds and small deer down here . Zero at 25 yds flat out to 200 yds , 55grn heads running at 3500 fps easy to obtain all components and reload. Bait a safe corner and lay up at your desired range . The normal 22.250 is limited by barrel twist 1/14 so 55 grn some will go up to 69 but if you go 1/12 a bit more flexable or 1/8 twist a serious contender with match or 75 amax . I have competed with folk using fast twist 223 but could do no better than the old 22.250 and -

Either would be fine , add a better illuminator T20 and it makes a big difference also you are saving on the photon battery life . Ive been pleased with the battery charger from Lidl and carry sets of spare batteries . Also be aware of the battery positioning on the photon . i.e +/ - direction . ATB
