  1. Is there much difference between the two, well apart from the stock?
  2. Hello, Ive been offered a super 10 mk1 I believe for £150. What are these like? I know they had good reviews years ago, but compared to more modern guns, is it worth buying? He has had it for donkeys years, but has a shoulder injury, and he told me they are a heavy gun, so hasnt used it in years. Cheers Beany
  3. The cheapest method is to use frontline spray. Buy it online from France from easyprapharmacie, it far cheaper, £33 delivered for 500ml. You only need two sprays per ferret, works out pence and lasts for years.
  4. Lint is the proper name for the netting mesh.
  5. I rigged 200 yards of that lint from advanced netting, it does do the job, but it doesnt wrap the bunnies up as well as the lint off Nelson. His isnt full of binders, and is a much softer lint than advanced netting
  6. I used 11 traps for 2 weeks in the end and still only had 1 which the fox had. Someone has tried 25 down my local golf course I ferret, but they only had 1 mink. They are just piled up now. Its funny how some places do well and others dont.
  7. Can only dream of numbers like that around my way! Cracking day
  8. Duracells are usually good. The rayovac silver oxide 394's are good collar batteries too
  9. Not teaching you to suck eggs, but have you put a new battery in it? Ive had a similar thing when the battery is flat
  10. I might have one kicking about. I will check in the morning and if I have, I will post it to you foc
  11. I had a hedgeline on the end of a sheep field that was heaving with rabbits. I went two weeks later and ferreted the whole 300 yards and had one. Soon as I pressed the piss out, it was full of blood. The ferrets acted funny going in some of the holes, I gather they were full of dead rabbits
  12. As promised, the battery cover arrived today, superb service
  13. Well a fair few people moan about Deben, but with my first dealing with them, I must say they are very good. Some how The battery cover fell off my mk3 a couple of days ago while ferreting, so I sent them an email asking about buying a replacement. Within an hour, I received an email asking for my address, so they could send me one free. You can’t get any better than that!
  14. take the batteries out, give then insides and batteries a wipe with a tissue. it takes very little dust to stop them from working
  15. Great start, they will soon be in the swing of things
  16. Yeah, I went out this morning again for a few hours. I had one hit the long net and some how flipped and wriggled and got underneath it, but it was 6 in the bag. Its enough to carry the mile back to the motor with the longnets, bag, ferrets, spade and a wax jacket.
  17. Cheers, I’ve been a bit idle with the air rifle lately, so I needed to put a few bunnies in the freezer as I’m getting low
  18. I got home and had a mug of tea and a couple of steak sandwiches. That was before I got stinky fingers removing the remnants of guts and skinning the rabbits! I couldn’t be without my Longnets, I use them all the time. They see sunlight more often than my purse nets. I mainly do hedgerows on paddocks etc, so they are ideal for that
  19. Well I decided to give it a couple of hours before it got too warm today. Up at 6, out the door by 645 and at the permission at 650. Can’t complain about that! Well the sun was just starting to make an appearance, so I opened the boot of the motor, put the collars on, loaded up and started to make my way to the far end of the perm. I got around 3/4 mile before it started raining. A quick look around for somewhere to half shelter, saw me jump in a little vee in the bushes, ferrets and bag in first, then the Longnets basket was slung on the floor to make a seat and keep my arse dry. I was
  20. Well I haven’t got a dog, it’s not fair for me to leave it on it’s own while I’m at work. The rabbits all bolt really hard at this permission, one hit the long net a few days ago and done a somersault and flipped over the net. Low flying rabbit!
  21. I was thinking the hedgerows are about 8ft wide, if I got two 4ft boards and put them through the hedge in a v shape, there would be more chance they would push out the hedge, rather than have a straight board and then turning back
  22. Hello all, Has anyone got much experience using donk boards? Ive got some paddocks with large, well established hedgerows with stock fencing both sides. Its a bloody nightmare having to get the secateurs out, cut my way through, then thread the longnets through, using bits of branches etc twiddled through the lines around the fencing to keep them up. I was wondering if donk boards could make my life fair easier?? Slide them through, so it will push the bunnies in to the longnets?
  23. well thats great. the bottle was still far cheaper than anyone in the UK
