Sorry missed this. me and a couple of other close friends. Both from up north. Can’t lay claim to the blood, it goes way back and isn’t from around here. But we were just lucky to have ended up with it, and that’s how it goes. If it’s good you try to breed close to it. But long term plans usually go tits up ? I was planning to put the sire of the pups black pups over the tan bitch last shown. But sadly not to be !

We’ve got another brother to the above tan pup, and also a brother and sister out of same sire to a different dam. And two brothers and a sister to the black rough dog at the start of the thread. All related through the sires line (two litter brothers). Also got brothers to my tan bitch about. Lots of exciting potentials, so we shall see!

Sire was saluki bull grey. One of the best dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure to run. Died in the field aged 3. Dam - saluki bull grey x Picardy grey According the THL wisdom we shouldn’t have done the mating, dogs too young etc. Luckily we did! The sire was dead next season. It broke my heart, the dog was a machine. If you saw it, he would catch it. Maybe three fields away, but it would be on the deck. I had big plans for that dog ! But he caught more in his short life than most do in a long one !

Then you get folk like me. Farm thousands of sheep, a pile of cows, and work for others contracting . . . . but no chance I could afford a farm. They are all bought by folk from London. . . . who then rent it to me . . . . . and claim the subsidy and payments on the land I farm.

This stuff always makes interesting reading . . . . . . Supermarkets are b*stards, and screw their producers badly at every chance. Costs have gone up a lot, and that needs to be passed down the chain, not just stuck onto the producer. With regard to eggs - the issue is that a lot of people dont know the cost / value because there are lots of folk who basically have a job, and pay to subsidise a hobby of keeping some chickens and producing eggs, with money from their other job. They then give these away or sell them for f**k all, they are losing money on every egg. . . . . and

Rape and war to hand in hand. People rape people in war zones, even people they aren’t fighting against. Some strange stats I wish I could remember from studying it, but the level of rape by UN army personnel on other UN army personnel in Bosnia for example was mad. And if you think that a largely non professional army didn’t commit plenty of rapes when invading other countries during a world war ...... just because they were British.
