  1. Police like you to start off with a 17hmr , because they don't ricochet like a 22 . Something worth remembering especially in this dry weather with rock hard ground. A mate got hold of some 22lr tracers, we shot some off at night. It was scary, I mean they go all over the place . If any of you 22 boys get hold of any try it , it will make you think a bit about what is behind and off to the side of your target . I hate .22LR for that very reason. My friend once took a shot he shouldn't have - I was down range and out of sight albeit he knew I'd gone ahead and so shouldn't have been shooting.
  2. Moulting, I think it is a dropped town fox. We get that here!
  3. No mate, the dog beer can did not work, in fact it sent the other one away!I stalked in on this one. I wondered myself if it was going to rain but it held off just about. U.
  4. Popped out at eleven to check on fox activity. Found two but they busted me. I walked away and returned later. I managed to get back on one and shot it at fifty or so yards DRT. 11:57pm. U.
  5. Dacia, Renault engineMy mum's got one of them worse thing she ever brought bad car and their not 4wd the only a 2x4Mine is fine so far and has a Nissan system. Switchable from 2wd, auto or 4wd locked. It also uses the abs to shift drive where it is needed. It actually negotiates a tricky place I visit regular better than the jimney. It actually deals with wet grass on a hillside better than a jimney. What was wrong with your mother's? R.
  6. Run two jimney over ten years. Both standard. Grand little tools. Just switched to a duster. Surprisingly good, just little ground clearance on the front. I would like the egr switched off!
  7. Thats the older ones, with the 1293cc engine. I used a bit of piping from my hanging basket watering system to replace mine when it cracked. Cheers, D. With out checking it may be other models too. One of the vitaras uses a air/vacuum operated front diff lock.R.
  8. The other thing to bear in mind is that Suzuki use air/vacuum lines for hubs and some diffs. That needs checking for and out. I have come across cracked lines before now on Suzuki's. A simple repair to do.
  9. its always in 4wheel its not got 2 wheel its got 4 wheel high and 4 wheel low Then the centre diff is locked. Or stuck in the locked position. If it's the electrical operated diff lock it's not unlocking. It needs testing. If it uses a viscous coupling for a center diff it has failed.
  10. ....and fox's. I used mine tonight on one. I called this scruffy dog fox in and sent one down his middle at 45 yards or so. A short dash and he piled up. Fiocchi sub sonic HP. 22 works just grand. I was using my new expensive caller tonight. A squeaky dog toy. R?
  11. Yes, that would be a pain. R. I should have said when I saw the pics, good work on the foxes BTW.Not at all, thanks.
  12. It's stuck in 4wheel. The mechanism is jammed. Jimmneys can sometimes lock up, especially when carrying a heavy load. With the car on flat ground and engine running observe the front prop while an assistant pushes the vehicle. If the front prop moves it's locked in 4w.
  13. This one was with switched ammo. Ironically the shot was only forty yards so a subbie would of done. U.
  14. This fox was shot with HV ammo. I had seconds to switch ammo and take a fifty yard shot. I aimed low. U.
  15. That's interesting, do you find much change in POI going from one to another? Some rifles yes and some strangely no. My current 22, a Brno 2e shoots a little bit high but it is easily dialed out or I just aim low. As it stands I am pretty much on zero at 100 with Winchester lasers. U.
  16. Not many about this year! I am somewhat reluctant in areas this year. Thanks. U.
