that's why people are selling bundles of seasoned hazel sticks on eBay mate,people just buy them and start making from the off, if you cut half a dozen every January after two or three years you will have sticks ready every year,but if you want to start straight away you might have to buy your first bundle then cut some in January as well to get you started for next year, I think that while you are seasoning them you also straighten out any unwanted curves or bends good luck

the two that Dave mentions are two of the best for a beginner though the new wasp catty,s are rapidly moving the goal posts, sadly finger and knuckle hits are a forgone conclusion if you have never fired one before, you can either wear a glove until your confident or get a starship/ forward fork style catty so your hand is well back out the way

Been reading up on this a little and I,m more confused than when I started, apparently certain wolves gray wolve for example are identical in there DNA make up with domestic dogs, and have cross bred since man first domesticated dogs, so the two main questions that spring to mind are how can you tell if they are pure or not if they carry the same DNA and what damage is it doing if they are genetically identical and have been doing it since the year dot, I know it's never a good idea to put human feelings on animals and I,m sure many would love the ideal of doing this but it is the equivalent o

believe it or not but there was one seen by many people on the a38 near cheddar,quite a few years back there is a petrol station on the junction to the village of shipham and it was in the field opposite seen by all the people pulling into the garage made the news and papers at the time No pictures ? i don,t have any it was years ago when I only had a passing interest, just stored in the back of my mind
