Sat out on the grass last night misses kids and neighbours all loving it, interestingly we were able to do it on a couple of phones at the same time to check for accuracy and they were all in sync, had blue and long tail tits chiff chaff ,blackcap, goldfinch , goldcrest, mistle and song thrush, blackbird, robin, wren rock dove and pigeon think I can now identify 1or 2 more birds by sound than before using the app so think it’s quite educational if you stick with it hoping the grandson will be fluent when he’s older in bird song already have him counting the number of toes on footprints he finds

Regarding keeping worms on barbless hooks just use a length of rubber band simular in size and colour to your worms and thread on last it will hold the bunch in place and look natural a rubber maggot will do the same ?

They take a few ducklings around the marina but sea gulls take many more, guess the size of the pike has a bearing, removing the alpha predator from any environment is bad news and as pike are very canabalistic the outcome of most pike culls is a water over run with jacks usually, Ill informed idiots playing god usually do more damage than good and should be shut down before they get an audience ?

The headline readers, as soon as the conversation is like a recital of the bbc headlines you no your doomed, it’s either time to bow out politely or just give them the big F,R,O depending on the situation, the government have learnt to use the media more and more to steer public opinion and it’s just become to easy for them to keep repeating the same shite knowing that the masses will eventually swallow the lot and follow blindly, as has been said before it’s the Shepard that eats the sheep not the wolf he is protecting them from ?

Still trying to work out which is best, eating shit or eating sick, the answer is none of them, when the average Brit realises that the two have become one with the sole intention of taking everything from you while encouraging you to work a longer working week and extend your working life to 70 you may finally pull together and do something about it but while the argument continues which is best labour or Tory it just keeps the divide and outcome the same, even abstaining is better than keeping the status quo that we now accept ??

Seems to be quite a good year for the old cuckoo, after several years of none or very odd one they seem to be here in some numbers this year woke up to the sound of one again this morning and saw 4 different ones on a walk recently all within two or three miles of me, anyone else have them around ?? Or am I just special

They are far more secretive than the roe, Gloucestershire is heaving with them on the lamp and trail cams but very rarely encounter them with the dogs on a daytime walk occasionally rattle one along the dry ditch in the hedge bottom but they don’t like breaking cover and seem more nocturnal ?
-
Just read a few comments and someone is claiming they had attacked several people and dogs and the owner was off his box, recon it’s best to find out the facts before pointing fingers but sadly the dogs only crime as always was the wrong owner

Misses goes into town on a Friday for shopping, so I got her to drop me off just before coming into civilisation and had a couple of hours wandering my way back across the flood plains, still lots of water on the ground saw a lot of shell duck had a really nice accidental run on a good hare, old boy done well for a 10 year old even got a few turns in, needed a good 10 mins in a wet ditch after but nice to watch eventually broke through a deer run back onto the towpath for the last few miles home also came across some fat fuk in a mobility scooter stuck in the mud, tried to get a few pics of it -
Oh the irony ??? even more ironic this old fellas encounter occurred in the same place as our own leading sceptics planned trip to stalk a sika I believe??

The swans nest in the background was attacked last week the penn was injured and eggs taken I set a camera up and only got a vixen with cubs on it though I suspected a water born attack from the otter was more likely, a couple of days back I found the remains of a nice Rudd in the same spot and yesterday morning this pike, river is carrying a lot of colour and extra water which is normally the time the otter comes in but there is still a strong smell of fox near the pike remains ??? -
Just came across these fellas few little bits of good evidence, think Ireland is a good place to get involved as they still have or did up until recently the rights to buy these animals as pets plus your on a smaller land mass so should be quite achievable a bit like the Zanzibar leopard that forest gallant traced we get a few on the podcast from Ireland ?

Not really mate we had our first positive hit of leopard dna in 2012 in the same county but government just raised there game in covering it up, it’s very interesting how many of the naysayers claim not to trust there government until they are reinforcing there own opinion on a subject like this, ??

Not a fan of putting shit in polythene bags but do do it in the marina or areas were kids etc play, so I have a small area of grass at the end of my pontoon that I consider to be our garden we’re we have barbies and the grandkids can play safely but lately I have got a midnight shitter as every morning I come out to find several piles of dog shit I’ve cleared up 4 piles of someone else’s cold shit this morning and am getting a little pissed off so last night in the dark I hid a camera in the bird feeder over looking the lawn I will switch it off in the morning and on in the evening until I se

To be honest the lad was not all that taken with the place mate it’s just to say you been there and caught fish, but planes taking off and landing every 2 mins and it’s quite heavily stocked now, unlike the old days of boating round an over grown pit to find a small gap in the foliage to fish from and wondering wether your motor was going to still be in one piece when you got back, no body wants to pioneer today all want instant results, one of my best mates was the last person to catch Mary when she was the biggest carp in the country sadly she died not long after and he got so much shit fro

Like the Cotswolds mate large expanses of open wild land close to big city’s were places people let them go, it’s why there are small clusters the length and breadth of the country, the land dictates wether they stay or move on look at old maps of an area and it’s easy to see
