  1. That choc dog of yours Tarw mawr must be in the top 5 of all pics in the "show us your patterdales" thread. ?
  2. Going back to what you said about the whiskey etc, I hadn't been to a certain farm for nearly 10 years and I used to drop a bottle of whiskey at this place every Christmas, lads I'd taken there in the past had been f****d off from there for being idiots and a pheasant shoot was now on there. When I turned up after all them years he said go on no problem a big handshake and a smile and mentioned the lads and the shoot, and the shoot were paying him £1500 a year, a bottle of whiskey and some quality street go a long way.
  3. I'll be out every weekend now Ss, if I'm not digging I'll be lining the earths up ready for the dogs when there ready to go again. They don't all make the grade, to be honest she's the first to fail for a while, I have her brothers sisters etc all flying.
  4. You can feel each morning getting cooler now, I was out early in the rain Sunday had a 6 inch dig purely by accident with a young bitch in a hedge she failed miserably, I had my doubts with her, hope it stays cool.
  5. Surprising that tank!! You would think a dry, draught free earth would be more suitable than a cold airy pile of rock, maybe they know something we dont "cunning as a fox" no truer saying.
  6. Ziggy, I'm not knocking what you do your a braver man than me to put a dog in them places but tell me do you purposely seek out these places to work your terriers or is it a lack of natural earths in you area, would you not rather have a dig to your dog and have more of a chance getting a result.
  7. Id be more worried about head size than leg size but that's just me as you said there solid pups so that's a bonus.
  8. They look solid enough on the pic, is it a repeat mating or a different dog used?
  9. I was out this time last season, I dug my main digging dog at 7 ft dead, dug the same place 18 inches the season before, it was just unlucky, the depth and the weather wasn't a problem it collapsed on top of him at 7 ft, shit happens.
  10. I think it was a bit warm to yesterday, you earned your pint after that dig.
  11. I hope Blaise hasn't pulled his thread because of other people's different views on digging it would be a shame, I just wish more digging lads from around Europe would let us know (uk and Ireland) how they go about there business ie, methods, dogs, views etc, we all have strong opinions on matters but at the end of the day there just options, come back Blaise all is forgiven. ? ps, it's one of the more sensible threads on here.
  12. It does sound appealing but I think I'd rather do the 30 minute euro tunnel and do some proper digging the traditional way ? than a 24hr plane journey to bush some charlie.
  13. Dig number 2, he found his voice for a while.
  14. Just out of interest donny did you find working homes for your dogs, hopefully you did.
  15. If ur referring to my post dd no-ones kissing anyone's f****n arse, and before you start jumping to conclusions I'm on about digging in general no mention of locators was there!!!! Only a fool would put a dog to ground without one.
