  16. I hear ya, the problem isn't teaching them to jump but rather a keen dog not too, my young bitch still jumps. not so bad, just when retrieving when tired its a worry.

Not any more, as a young man I taught all my dogs to jump, many years later and lost count of the dogs I’ve stitched (mainly from pigs), I lost one of my best running dogs (greyhound wolfhound) he tried to retrieve a young roo and ripped his private near clean off, long story short I had him put down, after many $ and a wound that just wouldn’t heal. From that day on I’ve taught them to find their way under or round, never had a problem with ditches or channels. I would rather lose prey, than stitch my dogs.
