  8. Woke up this morning to the sound of the alarm, the clock said 5am long before daylight. My Daughter Rachael, her BF Brian, and her dog Gemma (now 9 mths old) were already on their way to my place; we packed the car and headed out, an hour drive to get to the property. We arrived just after daybreak and the sunrise was scenic as the rays broke over the top of the hill. We walked up the hill to the fence line where the burrows were, we could see a few rabbits go to ground, you beauty. After a quick look, we prepared the first set with the purse nets, and entered my white jill, it wasn’t l

I'm heading out in the morning with my daughter to a new spot for a look, I have been doing a bit of spotlighting lately the nights are a lot cooler for the dogs, but I must say I enjoy the daytime stuff a bit more the scenery birds etc. anyway whatever you are doing ENJOY!
  13. 11 is ok better than none. A bad day's ferreting is better than a good day at almost everything
  14. Good to see mate. sometimes we can expect to much to soon, I find a pup between 12 mths and 2 years as they mature in self and confidence the bond realy steps up, the best is yet to come thats for sure. Young Zip is a belter now, we are so close. A.T.B with her, I always liked that pup.
  15. Just a few snaps from yesterday I decided to take the camera most of the time I don’t. I knew it was going to be a hot day so I decided to do a couple of hours ferreting before it got too hot, on a property that has a creek for the dogs to cool off in if we got stuck waiting for ferrets. I drove down to the creek and set up 75 yards of long net, and over the 1 ½ hours I worked the set I used 4 ferrets and managed six rabbits in the esky and a couple we missed by that time it was getting quite warm so we headed for a quick swim and looked around to plan my next trip. It was a very enjoyable
  16. The only reason a dog is an hesitant jumper is because its been taught to be hesitant,a dog as to be trained to jump, then trained to jump at speed, without missing a step and without hesitance,a mutt that hesitates is a mutt awaiting another injury.A dog that seeks an easier option to jumping meets injury earlier than a reliable jumper and also watches quarry make an escape that a reliable jumper keeps in step with. You should be a politician or a clown, not sure which better suits? It did make me laugh!
  17. Nice looking type mate, I'd own one
  18. GJ mate great pic Thz for sharing.
  19. Cheers mate. She wil be right in a few day's, very lucky pup.
  20. I hear this all the time, and seen it not that often. How many actual catches does a dog make after the prey makes it through a fence? Less than most! (I’m not talking about red ones). The biggest problem we have here is 99% of the fences are 2-3 strand barb on top, any dog can jump a fence, It’s when they are tired or carrying prey back it can become risky. I don’t lift my dogs over fences, and they jump them all the time, I just discourage them from jumping when chasing. Each to their own I wish you A.T.B PS Zip is looking better today she will be fine.
