  2. Feck that, tried it,...didn't work for me,...I'm buying some purse nets... It’s a lot easier on ground like that Phill, or you could try a dog that doesn’t turn like bus lol
  3. More than the odd fox Ray, red dogs come in handy few Roos at times too.
  4. Cheers TD She is getting better as time goes on, pretty happy with her, very handy dog.
  5. Yes Arry Same property, but other side of the creek from the video, in total I got over 1000 acres to wander about there. I'll be here for a few weeks yet
  6. A few snaps from yesterday guy's. Enjoy! http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/369810-an-absolute-ball/
  7. Hey guys, Hope all are well. I went out to one of my permissions yesterday with a few ferrets and young zip, after getting a few with the purse, and long nets, it was time to let Zip do her thing. Watching a dog at its craft is one of the most satisfying things. She did pretty well catching more than she missed, ended the day with 18 rabbits 9 caught by the dog Had an absolute ball. Below are a few snaps from the day. Enjoy!
  8. Crush anti's into fine powder mix in warm water, squirt in with syringe put it past his tongue ATB
  9. No real way to tell some don’t come on properly until their second season some are ok from day one. Hyperactivity is one thing I like in a ferret, young or old – the ones that never seem to walk and always run, harder to find than you might think A.T.B
  10. I got a Jill that will not let you touch her kits, she turns into a she devil, and yet she is the most loving ferret I have, all the rest are fine with it. Like Bob, I wait a few weeks before I handle them, as soon as they start eating on their own, I start to handle them
  11. Good News Bad News The Bad News – This is one of Kass’s Pups the Baw Baw council dog rescue rang me and asked if I knew anyone who wanted her, she had been there a month and didn’t have long to go before being PTS, on top of that the old owner didn't want her and she was wasting away from not eating. The Good News – After discussion with my daughter we decided to adopt her and find her a new forever home, which has now been found, her future looks bright.
  12. I just plod along mate, slowly goes the turtle
  13. Cant help it mate, we dont have a season. Real men hunt all year round lol
  14. The brindle bitch can't handle the odd red dog on her own, but its ok she has tough friends No I in team. Handy for this too, but Im retired mostly
  15. Went out to a beautiful spot last week with the dogs, ferrets, and long nets, I will be here most of this month, It just doesn’t get much better than this. To have a spot with stunning views, easy access, more burrows than you could do in a month, fish in the creek and more than the odd fox about it’s like heaven. Spent the morning here and ended up with a few, as usual had a fantastic day in the field Below is some footage of the day, for your off-season entertainment - Enjoy guy’s
  16. I call Father to Daughter line breeding, not only used for looks & type in pedigrees, but also to establish desirable traits in working dogs, seen it many times with mixed results. In both Dogs and Ferrets
  17. Some carry a lot of fluid, still looks like 10 + A.T.B
  18. Sorry to hear that, I too have been touched by the death of a loved one, lost my Dad and Brother in the same year when I was 15, Brother too was R.T.A . Like you said you don’t get over it, you learn to Live with it, probably why I like my own company learned at a young age, not many people truly care except Family and all my relatives except Mum were back in Scotland. Anyway A.T.B mate - S.B
  19. It is special! I have a son too, he is more into fishing, another one of my passions thats our thing
  20. I’m pretty much a loner with only a few close friends, I enjoy my own company and hunt most of the time on my own, truth be told, this is my preference. That being said, one of the greatest things I get from hunting, is watching my Daughter enjoy the same exhilaration, and excitement, you get from the thrill of the hunt, recognising her pride, and joy as she watches her young dog mature and progress, feelings I know o so well. Hunting has given us a common interest, a unique closeness, and a life time bond. Below is a mixed bag of footage depicting the above. Enjoy!
