  1. I have been lucky with my kids. My son loved shooting air rifles and spent hundreds of hours in out cellar target range and loading 12 gauge cartridges with me in the days when it was much cheaper to load your own. My oldest daughter was like my shadow, whatever I did, she did and became a cracking little sea angler but not shooting although she does enjoy a good plinking session with my son in law and myself, she is a better shot than my son in law if I am being honest. My youngest daughter loves nature so not keen on me shooting live quarry but she loves fishing when I take her which
  2. An old chap in our village sadly died a few weeks ago, in fact the grandfather of someone I know. In years gone by Jeff was a keen wildfowler, pigeon shooter and dog trainer leaving a few sacks of bits and bobs which were offered to me rather than throwing them in the skip. I readily accepted whatever was to come....................today, four sacks arrived, 10 floating, weighted duck decoys with tethering lines still attached, shell and whole pigeon decoys, an old canvas wildfowler's game bag, which I love and will make full use of and a pile of various weighted dog training dummies but a
  3. I have not reached that point with air rifles yet, maybe the HW100, not sure but after almost 50 years with shotguns, my Beretta DT10 32'' sporter will be going nowhere. Phil
  4. I am a few years older than some or most of you ......okay quite a few years older alright.....and when I was a kid we all wanted a gun of some sort which usually started with a pea shooter or catapult or spud gun but whichever we progressed to AIR GUNS, in my case a GAT pistol then the Meteor etc etc but now kids don't want to be in fresh air, climbing trees and shooting, well almost anything, they like to be curled up in a comfortable chair texting whilst playing electronic games..................sad, fcuking sad in my book. Phil

  10. I have two friends who use them and love em to bits. If I am honest, the real advantage for me is the weight reduction carrying it around and freehand shooting, I am getting a old tart but can't really see me moving on the HW, far to good. Sorry Sean, highjacked your thread a bit there so I have done mate. Phil
  11. Sounds like a GREAT plan. Incidently Si, why has the greenhouse been buried underground, most people including me find they work much better on top of the soil mate, then you wouldn't need to dig it out. Phil
  12. Changing the subject slightly, if I were not going on holiday in a weeks time, I would have been VERY VERY TEMPTED to buy a cracking Wildcat with a walnut stock today but I am being a good boy..........................for now. Not selling the HW100 though. Phil
  13. That is good to hear Sean, could there be a wind of change, lets hope so, not just for you but everyone else. Phil

  15. You could always buy a set of adjustable mounts, then just crank em up for new zero. Seen it on youtube.......................looks very fiddly to me but who knows. Phil
  16. Cheers Si, I will have a play with that Phil
  17. Well done Si and good to see the new lady is working for you mate, you could have frozen a rabbit to use as corvid bait, works a treat. 21. The link opens fine for me. Interesting topic because I find my TX too light but not happy about adjusting it, out of my comfort zone.... Phil
  22. Carl, even though I have not used your services, your reputation here and on other sites is second to none and it will be only a matter of time before I do make the call to you. I know some people are not very good at keeping in touch which in turn p1sses people off who are waiting because they are looking forward to getting their guns back after the upgrades but it is good to see you admit that aspect of your work is not your best forte but I have never heard anyone say even the slightest bad thing about the workmanship. I was sorry to hear of the death in your wife's family a little whil
  23. £4 difference between the tins, are the 5.51 an old tin. The 5.52 seem to do the trick mate, melt the others down for fishing leads. Phil
  24. Sounds good Si, if we ever meet up, I will deffo ask for a few shots through her and the Wolf of course but mainly the Ultimate Sporter. Phil
