In the middle of a stubble field, not so easy and to be honest, I can't be arsed looking around for bits of twig, I would prefer every time to have the gear to do the job. Phil

Cheers Mark

Welcome aboard Luke I am only an hour away from you, near the Humber Bridge area so if it helps, you can come over and have a go with my guns, I have both PCP and springer so you can see which you like. I will take you to my local dealer who always has some second hand guns which I will arrange for you to try while you are there if that helps. Phil

I know the frustration you have had over this gun Simon, from what you told me and I guess just as much now knowing you are closer to attaining the gun you thought you were buying in the first place but perhaps Carl is not the best on communication but from what so many people have said, it is worth the wait. I hope you hear from him soon my friend and start to enjoy the Airtech Regal. Phil

Where do you get the cradles from Mark or have you made them. I have seen a few but if you have some that work well for you, I am interested mate. Phil

Thanks for your input guys. Phil

As usual Mark, up to your normal standard mate, nice going. I do like the top drape over the hide hmmmmm Phil -
That looks a nice range Dave and with the fences, I bet it isn't affected too much by the wind. Phil

Still blowing a hooly here Si, the East Coast is getting plenty of wind at the moment. I'm taking the shotgun for a few pigeon if it is still blowing like this in the morning. Phil

Setting Up And Readying For The Next Stage Of Wood Pigeons.

Can't wait for the corn to be cut as I have some nice spots ready for the dessert camo hide I bought yesterday. In Lincolnshire we have loads of dykes and ditches for land drainage, one such ditch is next to a road I use quite a bit and yesterday I saw two guys placing railway sleepers in the ditch (these are about 10' deep) so I stopped for a chat. They were using them as a base to shoot from and were placing reeds around to make a natural hide ready for the pigeon. It looked really good, didn't get an invite though. Phil -
Nice going Billy Phil

I can always bring a shotgun if it pleases your farmer. Well done mate. Phil

I have a Swift Stumpy, very impressed with it and you can remove some section to get it shorter but can't confirm how much louder it becomes. It even reduces the noise from my TX by quite a bit but my wife claimed it for her Brocock which is now silent and they are not too heavy either. Phil

Plus one more Phil

Strange thing is Walshie, I have two illuminated scopes, on one the full cross hairs light up in red or green and these are useless but on my MTC only the centre of the cross hairs is red and this works really well. The tail switch should be here in a couple of days but there again the NV unit should be back soon and when it does, I'll be using that. Phil

The gun is stunning looking Si. I know they have a shocking reputation but strangely enough the lads on another forum don't seem to have too many issues with this model. I really hope it is a good un Si. Phil

I ordered one on ebay to try only £3.66 so not exactly a costly job to try out. Going back out again in an hour to try again. Phil

It should have come with ND filters Jimmy (shades of grey) which have no colour cast. I have looked for some but not so easy to get hold of. On the new NV units they have now got screen brightness control so you can reduce it right down. My mate has one and loves it. Going to try the lamping again in about an hour so fingers crossed. Phil -
I know these can work really well but in all the cases I know of, it has been shooting with shotguns. Just wondered if any of you have used them to effect on woodies with the air rifle. I am looking at one for shotgun work with a pal, it would be a real advantage if successful getting them on the ground to use a rifle. Phil

As soon as I have bought a tail switch, I am deffo off to try again whilst my NV unit is away for sorting. Plenty to think about there Jimmy and all new to me. Phil

PM sent I'm not far away and would be very happy to meet up. Phil

I would deffo have one if they were half the price, could be a new sport....... Phil

One of the lads on here, Seamaster, has bought another Brocock after he thought the first was not so good but this time Chris says this is a cracking gun and very accurate. It has to be said however a few of the guys on airgun forum have got them and they are up to the Daystate standard with poor quality control meaning there have been issues with things not working properly or not at all, only minor like not being able to put air in but hey does that really matter.................... I think it is a case of if you get a good one, they are great but if you get a problem, it's back to Dayst

I had a go at lamping tonight as my NV is up the spout and going back for a new camera so out with the red beam. There must be more to it than I thought although the wind has been howling all day with a couple of showers and only one bunny made a show but free hand missed it. Must remember to make allowance for the fecking wind !!!! My lamp doesn't have a switch on the stock, instead the button is on the back of the torch so I need to get a remote switch, this made it tricky and noisy. I can't see a bloody thing with the torch on lowest setting so middle or high. Bit by bit I did get more

To be honest Si, the Impact doesn't do it for me, perhaps a little too military for me although extremely clever and a friend in London has the first in the UK and loves it but the Wildcat has been in my mind for some time now and after shooing one at the Game Fair last week, I am smitten with them...........................I WILL HAVE ONE, NEED MORE MONEY....... Phil
