Well I will get some in .22 when I have the gun to try out, it may be quite interesting. Phil

Has anybody got a BSA .177 new type (plastic) mag that they would like to sell, thought it worth asking before buying a new one. Are the older metal ones worth bothering with. Phil

Forgive me but surely the hard point of those pellets is going to aid the pellet go straight through more easily rather than cause more damage once in the target which seems to go against the principle of pellet damage. I do wonder if they would stop a fox with a head shot from my soon to be FAC rapid..................hmmmm Phil

I have not seen any posts from Mitch for a while....................................where are you Mitch. Phil

A little ahead of myself here but my FAC ticket is due in the next couple of weeks if there are no delays which means I can go and collect my Rapid Mk2 fac .22. Now a thought just crossed my mind, the BSA bottle is aluminium, what is the Rapid bottle made of, if steel, do any of you Rapid boys fit an aluminium bottle to keep weight down at the front or is it not available or needed. Would an R10 bottle fit if needed. Just curious and the mind is thinking more and more about this gun or at least getting hold of it. Phil

They are a lovely looking rifle Jon, it is a wonder they don't produce one in subdued colours or plain wood. A friend of mine in Suffolk has just bought a Hatsan semi auto shotgun in PINK camo for pigeon shooting over decoys.................................WHAT. Well she and her partner do a great deal of shooting so I was surprised at her buying this colour but she said it worked a treat and far more effective than black barrels without any birds jinking away when they saw the gun so perhaps if the shape is broken down, that could be more important. I think I will reserve judgement o

To be honest, I wanted a Viper Connect but no good for NV add-on and this is lighter, if it anywhere near as good as my Genesis, it will be spot on and just about right for the Ultra..............................or perhaps the Wildcat, when I get one. Phil

No longer looking for a Mamba Lite...................................just bought one on ebay Yeeeehaaa Phil

There was a BSA scope on the Ultra I just bought which IMO was not good by any means so took into the RFD to see what he had and sat on the counter was a s/h Nikko Mountmaster AO, a quick chat and a straight swap. Now I hear a lot of bad reports about this scope and have to say that it is nothing more than a stop gap until I have decided what to do with the rifles........................it is not bad at all, okay the outer edge definition of the lens is soft compared to my Hawke Varmint and MTC Genesis but quite usable and the cross hair is not too thick either so I might even keep it and put

Have you tried the polymag short Jon, they cycle in most mags. Phil

A bit late but why not get a quick fill cylinder second hand, a lot less messing around. Which model HW100 have you bought, standard or carbine (SK or TK) version. Phil

I find most AA guns have a similar cocking issue, I don't think it is a problem just the design. I picked a 410 for my son in law which was the same and was advised by the RFD that with AA bolt action guns you should use your thumb to centralize the bolt when pulling it back which does seem to work. I agree, it is worth pushing him on price because he might think the stock appearance is cool but should you decide to sell it at some point, those holes/carving WILL knock the price down. Phil -
Am I right in thinking that the WTC and other simmons scopes are not available with mil dots. Phil

You were using a springer at 70yds...................................accurate at 70yds.........................................you must be quite a shot my friend. Phil

I use a pair of cheap Thinsulate gloves over shooting gloves so I can keep taking the over gloves off when my hands get warmer. Just bought some MacWets because they do help keep the heat in as well as work well in the rain. As an option, buy two pairs of thinsulates and cut the index finger off or slit it, so cheap and such great heat keepers. I bought a couple of pairs Hot Socks 3 years ago and they work really well, also sell as Heat Holders, same product, worn with a normal pair of everyday socks underneath, all day comfort and I can stand hours in the water fishing with these under my

Now I am a plonker when it comes to striping down guns to do mods as Chris (seamaster) will confirm, thank you Chris for your help with the bits on the Ultra, however, this is not something to just take back for a refund my friend, it is a classic and a few quid and some outside help if needed would be very worthwhile because these things are going to become more and more hard come by BUT YOU WILL OWN A CLASSIC while others will not. Phil

WOW !!!!!!!!!! Simply WOW

Yes, I have heard about the marking on the mag but it doesn't really cause a problem indexing from what I heard. Cracking gun. Phil

I am with you David, shorts and tea shirt. If I go into our village shop in long trousers, they ask if I am going to a funeral or wedding, xmas shopping in shorts, much to the annoyance of my dear wife. When I used to keep a fishing boat in Grimsby dock, we used to go out in the worst weather for the cod and one product I bought was the best bit of clothing I have ever bought, Sundridge Sleep Skin or sleep suit. Worn under any outer clothes and I was toasty warm and I think you can still buy them.....................very very good Yes you are a southern pansy Jon Phil

The Derwent Si, pike or grayling. Down my neck of the woods the Derwent is trout / grayling water so what do you get up there. Phil

I am somewhat jealous matey, it is at the very top of my wish list for next year. Only had a few shots with one at the game fair and hooked good style just wished somebody round here had one for to me have have a session because the scope on the one I tried was utter rubbish for me, blurred as hell although I am certain I will be getting one or perhaps two. Have you had any mag indexing issues with your .177 as I heard the .22 was no problem but the .177 had this problem. Phil

I popped over to my perm today in very heavy rain on route to a fishing session, just to scan over the fields BUT the land next to my perm had well over 1000 canada geese on the wet stubble. Out with the binos as this huge skeen took to the air making a real old noise in the process. 200 yds and they will be slap bang on my perm................................ooooh how I wish The rain feel good style so the fishing was done under a motorway ( where the motorway runs over the river), no pike but a good banter with hot coffee and my fishing buddy so not a bad day, need a bit of frost to

Let me get this right Si, you bought Accupels already washed and lubed..................................from where. Phil
