  1. Shame can barely get chance to see the pics before being taken off lol
  2. Well, I agree with everything said. Been told by whippet fans I'm off my head ..that whippets are this n that. But when u been ferreting lamping and general walking about with a quick lurcher and a whippet u can't make up what u see. Iv seen about 12 different whippets next to my dog I have and my old bitvh. The dog I have now is a proper lurcher so not like pure greyhound or coursing fast type etc. and even he out paces whippets. And he doesn't lack in his turning ability either, like a spring chicken lol
  3. In 20 years time if people carry on doing what they want I think the ban and law will just fade out abit and police will go more relaxed ,That's my honest opinion.
  4. maybe the topic would have gone a different way if I hadn't used a specific breed. And just said rabbit dog.. It was meant to be more of a thought provoking thread aimed at the place of hunter and his dog in the cycle of nature. A.t.bwhat a reply to everyone not your topic. I see what your saying.
  5. Il second a collie x. Can't go wrong really in my opinion, pick up new situations quickly, good feet, coat and brain. Good luck
  6. The only thing I like about whippets are their guts for a little dog. The rest you can find in greyhounds but over a greater distance so makes sense to stick to them , as they don't really lack guts or acceleration either. I suppose whippets are good if u need a dog indoors and ferreting but that's as far as I'd go myself. If the whippet was bred so alike to a rabbit to be the best, then surely u need to look no further? But people use lurchers over them even just for rabbiting. Past rabbiting and the whippet is out of its depth really.
  7. I thought u had a big black bull x pup? Must be confused. It's hard work on bike
  8. Just had another reply saying it could take longer than 10 days now but it has been passed on to the relevant team.
  9. I have one as a pdf file if you want send me your email in a pm and ill forward it on to you thanks, il pm you now.
  10. Good post mate, fair comments. I like the collie x, that's why I'm sticking to them.
  11. Seen some mention ages ago on here about training books for lurchers, and someone mentioned gun dog books are better as they also explain on methods or different methods to over come certain things. Was wondering if anyone knew of the best or a very good one atleast. Interested in having one just to go refer to once I get a pup in. Cheers in advance.
  12. Some nice pictures there. What made your mind up on the percentages? Atb
  13. hoping to have a 3/4 greyhound pup here soon enough.
  14. Ye it does mate, knew a lad that had terriers outside, lurcher in. Soon as they were in the field, terrier always used to get the lurcher in a head lock, sometimes give him a Chinese burn as well. Jealousy we put it under. Lol nah can't see a difference tbh mate
  15. could be the protein as its high in protein. Maybe soak the food before feeding it. Atb
  16. dont that thin the blood or am I thinking something else. Used to cool dogs in summer
  17. Try leaving a bowl out side to fill with rain water, lot of shit gets put in our tap water IE fluride chlorine chemicals that smell wrong to your dog, that said mine drinks tap water as he has dry feed as well as raw. But given the choice he would rather puddle water or river stream lake ditch think he only drinks tap water when he has no choice.Atb with it mate my dog is also the same. I got told boiling the water does away with the crap? That's what I do if I have enough time that day
  18. Yep Defo right thing to do. It's surprising what some dogs are willing to carry on through.
  19. I feed lamb breast, chicken carcass etc so abit hard adding water to that so a hand full of kibble a day soaked in warm water, plus it makes him drink more. His coat looks better, piss is better too. Gotta have some more benefits in well being?
  20. There,s me thinking he,s posted on an open forum for advice about a stud and he,s been offered another option, doh.yes he did asking for a greyhound lolIt's always the same when people ask for greyhounds, or when max has offered his greyhounds for stud before on here, the same happened then with people saying they shouldn't use then Im not for one moment telling the lad not to use a Greyhound stud,im saying there are better options, far, far, far better and cheaper ones, its up to the lad what he wants as an end product and his reason for going along that road,im telling him that there are othe
  21. Really?.what I mean by that is, coursing dogs got lots in the make up, last good number of years heavily saluki influence, but if saluki was the answer why ain't more men running pure saluki. Because they ain't as quick, the coursing dogs have greyhound in makeup. If u took the greyhound out of the coursing bred dogs would they be as successful ?
